  1. Amy, I'm so sorry. I hope you find peace very soon one way or the other. :grouphug: Connie
  2. Thanks, I bookmarked it to poke around later. Connie
  3. We use them for shopping but they also make great library book bags with the flat bottoms. Most of our stores are very cooperative about using my bags. No problems here! Connie
  4. I won't but then TX in July doesn't entice me too much. If I recall correctly, y'all in College Station have a fair bit of humidity to go with all that summer heat. But I would love to hear Susan speak in person at some point - maybe when I'm a grandma to homeschoolers. :D Have a great time! Connie
  5. Plus, make sure you are responsible for the charges they are claiming you owe. Sometimes they try to get you to pay charges that are not your responsibility or are not allowed under the contract the insurance company has negotiated. I would talk to the insurance companies first and then the hospital billing department. Connie
  6. No dining room here but yours looks just lovely! Right now I don't even have all of my kitchen table as dh has his business PC "permanently" set up on one end of the table. Once we get our addition on then he will have a real office in our new bedroom. Connie
  7. Oooh, in my dreams I would love to live in Edinburgh although I don't know if the reality would match. We were fortunate to have a very short visit there a few years ago and it was so lovely. Good luck and God bless as you start your new adventure! Connie
  8. I don't know how old your kiddos are but I really like "Spanish Verb Tenses" by Dorothy Richmond. She did another book on pronouns and prepositions. I got mine at Amazon or BN three or four years ago. Connie
  9. I can't say I have ever thought to try and sanitize them. I do wipe down the covers with a damp cloth and a mild cleaner just because I like to keep my books nice. Plus, if they are really grubby they just feel icky. Connie
  10. WOW - thanks for posting this! Connie
  11. Thanks, ladies! I think I will see if our local school district has anything on their site. I just want to make sure we are in the same ball park as the public school, not that it says a whole lot. Dd has no idea what she wants to do yet much less where she wants to go - reminds me of myself at her age and I'm still working on it. :tongue_smilie: Connie
  12. Thanks, Lisa! I have been out of the loop for a bit and that is a new curriculum to me. Connie
  13. I have never heard of this program - do you have a link? Connie
  14. Someone recommended "The Road to Agra" by Aimee Sommerfelt but I have never read it. I know it is set in India but no idea what the time period is. You might be able to find it at your library. Connie
  15. I agree with Tara - the reading/prep work is a bit cumbersome but day to day time is not "mom intensive". If you can borrow the quick start video/dvd then it really is pretty simple. Connie
  16. Anybody know of a site that has the various sate requirements for high school graduation? I realized the other day that I have never checked and should probably do that. Ya think I need to get a bit organized?! TIA, Connie
  17. I really appreciate this info - I've ignored this whole issue and now need to start making decisions since dd is starting 9th this year. :w00t: Connie
  18. Sorry for the ignorance but I don't recognize the acronym. I assume it is a latin course but which one? :tongue_smilie: Thanks! Connie
  19. Great point - especially with my son. Dd wrote early and well but ds struggles more. This might help me remember to have more patience. Connie
  20. We gave up cable about ten years ago and I honestly have no clue where I would find the time to watch television. We watch movies and other DVDs but sparingly. You can do it. Look at what you are spending per year and see if that motivates you more. Connie
  21. 1) Sorry for the bad experience. 2) You certainly have piqued my curiosity. 3) The exploding smiley is fun to watch! Hope your day improves, Connie
  22. I get the best prices on used materials. I have used vegsource, half.com, WTM buy/sell forum as well as others. To buy new, I usually get the best prices from Timberdoodle, Rainbow or Rock Solid. There's one I have used for Latin stuff but can't remember the name at the moment. Connie
  23. I feel like I am stating the obvious, but have you looked at the Apologia Chemistry? My dd did the biology last year and will do the Chemistry this year. We both liked the biology and the chemistry seems to be laid out in a similar fashion. Connie
