Ds totaled his car yesterday. He was a fault. This is his 2 at fault accident and there is 1 not at fault accident. He is up for renewal in 3 months and I have a feeling his insurance might drop him--high risk...he has only 1 accident with this insurance company. So my question is how will he get insurance..when he gets another car??

I am about 15mins from Lawrenceville. There are a lot of homeschoolers here and a lot of activities. If your kids like music there is a homeschool band in Lilburn--Grace Notes. Homeschool science classes at the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center---great for all ages! Homeschool Kayak Fall/Spring in Gainesville. A LOT of co-ops and homeschool sports programs around.

I am making out my school supply list...trying not to forget anything. What is on yours this year?

What text did you find the most useful? I will be using this with my rising 9th grader. Also is there a schedule for this? I know in the book it says 6wks for one, 4wks for another one. But my kids like to have things down on a calendar type schedule. I did post this on the highschool board but have not gotten any responds.

What book did you use with this? Do you have a schedule? My kids love to have a schedule to follow.

I don't mind it taking ds 4yrs to complete the course. How long did it take your ds to finish both books? Did he start in the 9th grade?

For those of you that use this. I am planning on using this with ds this year. I don't want him to be overwhelmed though. I been trying to figure out how long it is going to take him to do this course. I don't have a problem with him taking 4yrs to do it. I just don't know how to schedule it though. I do have the cd that came with the books--purchased used...BUT the registration didn't go through. I did play around with the scheduling--still I don't want ds to take all day doing Bible. I saw on the website that kids should spend about 1:15hrs a day doing the course...this will not work for us!! I would rather him spend at the most 30 mins. Any thoughts??? What do you suggest???

In the past 12yrs of homeschooling I have never been ripped off by anyone. I would like to pass on this persons information so they don't get ripped off by them either. Where can I post their information?

Years ago I had a site that had free file folder games/lapbooks for preschoolers. I thought it was a yahoo group site, but not positive. My neighbor will be homeschooling her preschooler this year and I told her about what I use to do with my ds and dd. Would any of you have any great sites for lapbooks/file folders? Any other sites for her would be WONDERFUL. It has been a long time since I had one in preschool.

sounds like a scam to me. Why would a roofer be riding and tell you that he could go through your insurance company...red flag to me! Anyone else around have hail damage? Do you have any problems with your roof now? Also, if you have to many claims your insurance could cancel you..I had a friend that had a tree fall..they filed a claim. A storm came through a few months later and quite a few homes in the subdivision had hail damage..including theirs. They filed another claim and their insurance company canceled them and they had to go with another company and pay twice the amount they were prior to the claims.

I purchased a set of books from someone either on here or another popular board back in the beginning of June. I know that media mail can take up to 6-8wks...thing is she shipped from FL..I am in Ga. I have purchased and received other curriculum after this purchase from states further away. I tried contacting the seller and her e-mail bounced back 3 different times. I am now thinking I have been took. What should I do know?

I was able to get in touch with her about a problem I was having with one of my cds. She was very, very nice and is sending me a new cd.

Ds was using honey--I read somewhere to leave it on for 15mins. That was a problem, since we forgot most of the time until it was so late and he needed to be in bed. We did do a scrub with honey and sugar..We still use it We were seeing some improvement, but I just thought something quicker might be better. Maybe we will go back to the honey and really enforce it.

If you use this please let me know what your thoughts. I am thinking about this for ds. How bad was the acne? Does it help clear up blackheads? What did you do for shoulder acne?

Has anyone used Teaching Company or Saxon Teacher for 87? I am looking at this for dd who hates math. I was wanting to know what the teacher covers? It is somewhat like the DIVE cd, but with someone you can actually see teaching? Saxon Teacher---I read that this covers all the questions...anyone use this? I watched a sample video a while back and remembered it to be dry. Any thoughts on this?

I know that he is old enough to make his own decision. He has come to us asking for our advice. In my opinion.. I feel that if he had talked about this his whole life, I wouldn't have a problem with it. We(dh and I) feel like he is doing this for the wrong reason and once he is in he would not be able to leave. Honestly...as a mother nothing would be good decision.

Ds(20) is wanting to join the National Guards. We believe that he is doing it for the wrong reason. Here is some background~~~He has gotten into some financial debt--he is slowly getting out--should be debt free by the end of the year. He moved out in Oct. He was in college, but the teacher kicked him out of class--the previous semester ds was taking the same class online. Ds was not getting the class online and was failing. He told the teacher(same one) that he wanted to take the class in school..so ds dropped it and signed back up the next semester. When ds went to class the first day, the teacher told him to leave immediately, that he did not accept him into his class and that he sent ds an e-mail...ds did not receive the e-mail at all..the school accepted his money for the class though--which he did receive it back. There were no other classes for ds to take since it was the first day of the semester. Everything went down hill from there. Thats when he decided to move out and the financial problems started. Ds is wanting so bad to go back to school. He can not afford it while living on his own. He doesn't want to move back home, though We have told him to find a Financial Counselor that would help him get financial ad. His thoughts are to go into the NG and go to school that way. I don't think he should join due to the amount of $$ received each month, school or just because it looks "cool" on TV--that's one thing that was said! What are your thoughts???

Dd just dyed a few strips of her hair blue on Friday. She is wanting to go swimming--- will this turn her hair green or do any harm to her color~~other than lighten it?

I have been searching and searching and I guess I am not looking right. But I am trying to find someone who can replace an itouch screen. Anyone have any idea of who I would call? Dh has considered repairing it himself, but he just doesn't have time. Apple wants the cost of a new itouch:glare:
