It has phenylephrine hydrochloride in it. Can I give this to him? I have him for the next couple of days, and I don't have his insurance card to take him to the Dr.

Ok we are stumped this year as to what to get our two younger kids for Christmas. Ds 16, has all the Xbox games that he wants(even the newest released game), he has an ipod and a cellphone so he does not need that. He does not drive so no gas cards or accessories for a car. I asked him and he said, "Well, not clothes" which is what he needs and will get some, but he is hard to buy for, so he needs to go with us. Dd 14 doesn't play a lot of games, she would love to have an electric bass, but dh said no that right now she needs to focus on her guitar and piano. One thing I can think that she wants is a tripod for her camera. She is also picky on her clothes, so again that will be something we will have to do together. I am so tempted to just hand them the money and say so much goes to clothes and the rest you do what ever with. That to me ruins Christmas--if we did that there is absolutely no reason to put up any decorations or a tree.

We are almost positive that our dog has inflammatory mammary cancer. We took her to the vet about 2wks ago, the vet took a swab of the ooze and said that she saw a few cancer cells under the microscope. She would know for sure if she does x-ray and a biopsy. The vet sent us home with medicine for pain and an antibiotic. The spot that our dog had when we took her in was about the size of a half dollar. Now it is about 6inches long and about 2 inches wide. She has new knots on her back leg..basically she has gotten worse in the past 2wks. We don't have the money to have the test done $300 to make sure that it is 100% cancer or for her to have surgery...about $1000+. She is almost 13. I told my husband that we need to talk about having her put down, she is in pain...her leg shakes all the time and she limps. DH does not even want to discuss having her put down. He said that we should put some neosporin on the area and keep the Elizabethan collar on her to stop her from licking. How do I convince him to put her down?

Does anyone make hemp milk? I was watching a show the other day and they mentioned Hemp milk. Curiosity got the best of me and I did some research on it; I was wondering if anyone here actual makes their own. My son drinks skim milk--any other cows milk hurts his stomach. We have tried Rice, Almond and Soy, but it is SO expensive because he loves milk. When I saw that I could make Hemp milk I was wondering..one is it really safe, two would it actually taste good, three would it be cheaper than purchasing milk(I buy store brand milk..whole and skim probably every other day)? A couple of questions #1 how would I make skim milk? #2 where would I purchase hemp seeds? #3 Would purchasing hemp seeds online be safe? #4 What is a good price for hemp seeds purchased online? BTW I have found 5lbs of hemp seeds ranging from $23 to $179 Thanks!

Do you buy your teen(s) their own "teen" vitamins or do you give them adult vitamins. since cold weather is approaching should I give extra vit. C or would the multivitamin have enough vit C? One last thing other than a multivitamin what do you give your teens?

I need to start taking vitamins..what what do I take?? I am 39. I was told that I need a multivitamin and take extra calcium by GYN..due to age. Not sure if this makes a difference I had a hysterectomy in 2006 still have ovaries This is what I have in my medicine cabinet Calcium plus vit D Vit B6 Zinc Flax seed Omega 3, 6 and 9--what it says **What I am looking at puchasing Alive Women's Engergy Multivitamin/Multimineral Liquid Calcium Magnesium Citrate Also purchasing Phase 2 carb Controller 500 mg CoQ10 120 mg So what should I take/not take together?? I need something that I can take once a day because I will forget if I have to take it more than once. What else would you suggest purchasing?? BTW I do not need iron.

Where do you get your vitamins? I was reading that some vitamins are worthless because they only have the "bare minimum". So I want to find somewhere to purchase quality vitamins.

That the spacers were put in today..not even 3hrs ago. He did not ate anything sticky to pull it out.

My ds just had spaces put in. He is to go next week to get his braces. Well one of the spaces has fallen out. I think he swallowed it because we can't find it. What do I do for now? The office is closed and I don't feel like this is an emergency but I don't want to have to have him go another week with spacers and them falling out. Is there an alternative that we can use? BTW I called a drug store and they said they don't sell the rubber bands(spacers) because they are different gauges.

I am going through my papers...bank statements, Dr. statements, insurance papers, etc... How long do you keep these papers? I still have papers from our first house--purchased in 98 and sold in 2005 should I still have those papers? Homeschool papers..attendance sheets..how long? BTW We currently use a Cyber school--started in January so should I keep all records up until January? If so for how long? Thanks!

My ds is in need of something. We have tried almost every OTC acne medicine out there. We have even tried vitamins and herbs--didn't work. I took him to his pediatrician in February, the cream they gave him gave him a chemical burn twice, so we stopped using it. We are considering Proactiv. I have seen it being sold at the mall and wondered if we would need to purchase everything..the lotion and toner especially. Can anyone help me on this?? He has blackheads really bad, every now and then he has the nasty white ones..but blackheads mainly...sorry if this was TMI! He also has eczema.

My dd asked me to go ahead and call the coach, so I did. He just returned my call and he sounded annoyed that I even called. When I answered he said this is so-n-so. I said how are you? He answered fine. I then told him that I wanted to talk with him about the game on Sat. I asked what exactly was the games for and he said it was a tournament for the beginning of the season..what ever that meant. Then he asked if I was upset that my dd did not get enough playing time. I told him well she only played 30mins and we could have left an hour after we got there. Also that the very last game was won 25-1 or 2 I can't remember now and it seemed that my dd along with the other inexperienced players should have played in that game at least. I also mentioned that my dd was upset about her teammate that was told she needed more practice that was the reason why she couldn't play. He then told me that he would have to talk with the assistant coach and that he was on vacation with his wife that they were celebrating their anniversary. I told him that I was sorry that I did not know that he was on vacation and that I could talk with him later about the situation. He then told me that he knew what the problem was and would talk with the coach..what!?! He only understand that my dd did not play very long, he didn't even seem to care about the child that was told that she wasn't good enough. I am so fed up with this team that I am ready to drop it before they asked me to pay..all they have said is the price will be between this $$ or that $$. BTW this is a private school. Also, dd has raised the money this summer to cover the fees to join the team and is now trying to figure out if she wants to be on the team or spend the money on other things. We are so confused as to what to do.

Dd is on a volleyball team. Today they had a huge scrimmage game. They played a total of 6 games. Dd is new to the game but does well and tries extremely hard. She was put in the first game until the middle of the game. Next game she subbed for about 6 mins. That was it for her playing time. There were two girls on the team that would call the ball, stand there and just look at it as it hit the floor and then look around like "what just happened?" Really!?! These two played every game! Of course the "favorites" that played every game. There are only 15 girls on this team. Now Moving on to the last game..our team won that game by 25-1. Come on why weren't the inexperienced girls..even if they should be called that..,able to play in that game??? The coach..assistant coach actual..main coach wasn't there...asked to play the last team again to break the tie...only two games per team for this scrimmage, normally 3 in a real game. He was told no since they had to clean up the gym. Now this " assistant coach" is a father to one of the girls who played 5.5 games subbed for a half of game. The actual coach does not have kids on the team. I don't know his reason for not being there. We have been told by coach and this assistant that my dd is doing WONDERFUL and that she is an assets to the team I was furious when we left, I sat for 6 hrs..9:30-3:30..on very hard bleachers for nothing. We could have went home at 10:30, after the first game. Now my dd tells me on the way home that a parent asked the assistant coach why his dd was not getting more playing time and he told him that she needed more practice. Dd said that he told his dd what the coach said..this girl was heart broken, my dd very upset. Don't tell these girl that they are doing great and then crush them at a game! Also that one of the "what just happened" girls doesn't even want to play, that her mother is forcing her. WHAT!!! Now I am even more furious! My dd said she is going to talk to the main coach on Monday about the situation. I told her that was up to her and if she felt that I needed to say something that I would..which I feel like I should. There are 3 games that are over an hour drive for us, I am seriously thinking if we stay with this team that we won't go. I will be livid if she does play after an hours drive and then a longer drive home due to rush hour traffic. I really appreciate if you made it to the end of my rant!

Dd--13, has been talking back and very disrespectful lately. If I say the sky is blue she will argue that it isn't. I try not to argue with her but when she starts being disrespectful I am done! I am at my wits end with her. She is grounded--no phone, facebook, e-mail, tv, video games or hang out with friends. She still persist on talking back. She would NOT do this to her friends or any other adult. This has got to stop! For those parents that have been here before,please share some advice in what to do.

I spoke with the Dr. (it was a new Dr and we did not like him!) He told us that there was NO way that ds could have gotten through his toddler years without sweating. He asked me in ds's 15 yrs had I never seen him sweat. It old him that I had not kept a record. We couldn't afford for him to play sports when he was younger, but when he was 9 he played fall baseball. He didn't really do much, since he did not have any experience. He currently kayaks in the spring and fall, so he will stay cool. So the Dr. says to watch him and make sure he stays hydrated and if at any point he feels dizzy to make sure to stop and cool off.

yes any time he gets hot he turns red. No sweating at all..not even a glisten. We are going to the Dr. today. I am planning on talking with them about it.

My son does not sweat..he turns red. He was thinking about playing soccer and has been practicing with the team. He is not thrilled about it but wants to play sports. I am concerned with him playing especially in this heat wave that we are having. They practice 7am-9am--still hot. He takes water with him to practice but just sips on it because his he has a sensitive stomach--which at certain times he will become nausea and have stomach cramps, but it passes--I also do this, not sure what it is. Today he helped a neighbor in their yard. He worked from 8:15 to 11:30. He was so red when he came home. He did take something to drink. WWYD?

I just saw on their website that we can join their eye club and get 2 exams for the next 3 yrs for only $99. Is there a catch to this? I looked on the website and I didn't see anything. I normally have to pay $85 for just the exam and then add the contacts and glasses every year. My dh things there is a catch to this price. I also would like to know if I have to purchase the glasses and contacts from them. I normally purchase ds's glasses and contacts online. Thanks for any advice.

I totally agree with you. We are not to go back for a check up for 2yrs, but we have changed insurance companies and do not plan to ever go back, even if we do change insurance companies again. I will find another cardiologist. I don't have a problem with paying either, I am just tired of trying to pay them money they seem not to want.

I can not set up an automatic draft..their office is not set up for that. I stopped sending checks because they take a month to a cash them. I have to get a money order, so on top of them not sending anything telling me how much I have left to pay--my daughters should be very close to being paid--I have to go out of my way to get a MO.

Almost 2yrs ago now my kids had to see a cardiologist. My son had to return last Oct for a check up. I made arrangements to pay monthly our part of the bill. I have asked repeatedly for 2yrs for a statement. I have even sent notes with my payment asking them to please send me a statement. I have NEVER received one, but when I call they are more than welcome to give me my balance. I am fed up with having to take the time out to call them for something they should be doing. Would you stop paying them for a month or so to see if they send you a statement or just keep trying to get one from them--which by now I never think I will.

I am wanting to take Medical transcription, terminology, and billing. Our local college offers online course but we can not afford them right now. The online college doea not accept the HOPE scholarship. I was hoping that I could get the HOPE scholarship or even the pell grant..I am not sure if these are income based though. It will run us around $3500 for me to take these courses through our local college. Any suggestions?

Does anyone do Medical Transcript? Since my kids are more independent with their school work. I thought about taking a few classes at our local college. I saw that I could take Medical Terminology and then Medical Transcript. Yes it will cost more by taking the classes separately, but I don't want to put to much on myself since I have not been in school in 22yrs. I wanted to know if this is still a strong field to get into either at a Dr's office or a work at home job. Thoughts or feedback appreciated!
