Well I sold it because everyone says the tiles are an important part of the process.. And you have to do them.. i liked the program.. And wouldn't think twice about buying it again.. I just thought maybe I was messing too much with how the program worked..... We were almost through book 1 too.. my other thought was I did not see her spelling improving with it.. Maybe I didn't give it enough time.. My son I never had these issues with... My daughter has fought me all the way with reading,writing and spelling.. I've finally have her reading and writing slowly getting back on track for her.. Just gotta get spelling..

She does fine with writing things..but had a fit when it came time to do work with the tiles ... She hated pulling tiles down to spell words she would always ask.. Can't I just write them on the board?

What does the hive suggest for spelling besides AAS ... My dd didn't care for the whole tile thing.. I've been told to look at sequential or horizons.... I'm familiar with phonetic zoo and sort of was leaning toward it because my daughter loves anything with animals.. But I am open for any and all suggestions... She is 3rd grade and a very very poor speller.. (she's just getting caught up on reading)

I read online somewhere she is trying out a brand new show... If the show doesn't take off the writers will write her back into next season.. If the show does take off we won't see her again. .... I'm not overly fond of the new girl... Her character isn't knowledgeable or strong enough to be on that team in my opinion. As for the spin off show.. I've watched all the episodes but its not as good as criminal minds. I wonder at times if they put that show out there to attempt hook the criminal minds fans so at some point they can start breaking the bau apart on criminal minds and eventually end the show.

Eewwww no way! When was little I remember my mom forgetting a pan of pinto beans on the stove when we had to leave quickly for a weekend... We came back and i was asked to dispose of said beans as mom was preggo and couldn't handle the smell... The beans had molded and still to this day I can smell that horrid smell...So I'm sitting here wondering why on earth would one scrape mold off beans and eat them... Doesn't your smell?.. The smell alone would make me hurl..

Now that I've finally watched lol... I think she will be back..maybe not till next season but she will be back.

I recently got sucked into criminal minds.. and watched all seasons while dvr'ing the current season lol.. so ive seen them all BUT last nights episode.. dd had a friend over and it tapes on the downstairs tv .. i dont watch it when kids are in the room lol.. I will watch it today while they are outside playing and cant wait to discuss it with ya!! :)

currently my husband is doing a year remote in South Korea.. he said they are prepping today to process 40,000 evacuees over the weekend into the base he is at.. not sure what area they are coming from in japan.. just know that they are coming from japan.

Hmm let's see my ds 8th grade plans Literature-- lightning lit 8(he finished 7 early so he's trying to knock this out before sept) and LL LOTR Spelling- spelling power IEW Analytical grammar Grammarlogues (computer cd) History- notgrass America the beautiful Adding in extra reading to go with history Science- apologia physical science Mus pre-algebra He will also help with his sister learning winter promise all American 1.... And he will do an ocean study to include trips out to snorkel and a few open water dives (he's currently working on his scuba diving merit badge in scouts) P.e. --- pe with homeschool group, as well as learning to surf and paddle board... Lots of trips to the beach to boogie board, adding in hiking and cycling :) he will also be joining the base swim team (can you tell we are trying to make the most of our tour here in Hawaii lol)

my kids detest the wrap ups (you know the string and key looking thing) .. i recently bought the "wrap up rap" that goes with them.. and now they are giggling and doing them because they want to.. and its sticking!

Reporting in from Hawaii... Had some minor surges so far but that's about it..they say this could go on for several more hours...so since It's almost 5am here and I have been up all night watching the news.. I am now off to take a cat nap before the kids get up.

okay so.. I am working on gathering supplies to teach guest hollow american history.. year 1 this year year 2 next year... but year 2 stops at clinton.. any advice on what to use to extend it into current? I am soooo not good at building my own by pulling this book and that book .. it always ends up a mess... so anyone done this already?? we will move back to SOTW 1 the following year *** Also has anyone scheduled in Time Travelers (new world,colonial, american revolution,19th century) with guest hollows american history 1?
