  1. Me in the avatar as well but I'm in Alabama now so the hair is totally straight and flat. I can not get it to stay curled so I usually wear a ball cap.

  3. We finally got our horses over the weekend. Thought some of you may enjoy the pictures. :001_smile: http://www.herdingducks.blogspot.com
  4. Well, Crud. I fell asleep early Sunday without blogging. I'm still going to try every day for the rest of the month.
  5. I like your blog, smart learnins. The video you have up is touching.

  8. I have this problem often. When books/exercise don't help, I drink Natural Calm. It helps me to relax and it gives you a sleepy feeling without feeling out of it. So worth it and works every time.
  9. She seems amazing, beautiful and a precious additon to this earth. May I also say that you sound just as lovely? She is just as lucky to have you. I pray for peace and comfort for both of you. :grouphug:
  10. Read over a post you wrote previously and cringe? At the time the post made perfect sense and you know what was meant but then later, you re-read it and realize how it would sound from different perspectives? Especially if someone took it the wrong way. I am guilty of this a lot. I type and click send and then my brain catches up and goes...Doh. That was stupid. I think you can tell so much from a person when you are actually talking to them. You can get what they mean and how they feel. That it is so hard to do on the internet. I think we need an audio function. It would clear up so much. So, until that is available I am going to sit on my hands for one minute before I click send. Maybe that will help keep my foot out of my mouth.
  11. :iagree: as well. (except, I do think thoughts are part of it) I think our downfalls and failures are a combination of free will, pride, lack of faith and in my case, pure stubbornness.
  12. What a bright child with a positive attitude. I bet she'll be a great writer.
  13. Respectfully, I disagree with the poster you mentioned that did not believe Satan has access to our thoughts. I think our thoughts and mindset are the biggest weapons he uses against us. He has direct access and starts manipulating us as children, setting up thought patters that are ultimately meant to destroy our faith, hope and joy. If you bear with me, I 'll give you a few examples of why I think this. Proverbs 23:7: For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Another way to think about this is that as a man thinks in his heart, so does he become. Our actions are a direct result of our thoughts. 2 Corinthians 10:4,5 For the weapons of our warfare are not physical (weapons of flesh and blood) but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds, inasmuch as we refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the true knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ. (the Messiah, the Anointed One. This passage indicates that we must know the Word of God well enough to be able to compare what is in our mind with what is in the mind of God; any thought that attempts to exalt itself above the Word of God we are to cast down. The Amplified Bible translation of this verse says that the devil argues with us; he offers us theories and reasonings. All of this activity goes on in the mind. The "weapon" we use to combat these attacks is the bible. Comparing your thoughts, actions and feelings with that of The Word. If it does not measure up to God's word, we are to discount it, throw it out and change our way of thinking. So, where do negative thoughts and mistruths come from? The father of all lies. (John 8:44) For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood, but against the despotisms, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly sphere. Ephesians 6:12 The battle is in our minds. You may want to check out the book; Battlefield of the mind by Joyce Meyer. It goes into all of these topics in great detail. I have found it to be refreshing and comforting.

  17. Ummmmmmmm, Grilled Nutella and peanut butter sandwich? We call them candy bar sandwiches. evil simply evil. :drool5:
  18. :grouphug: Some days really are hard. The worst ones are when you want to throw them all on the big yellow bus then run away to a deserted island with a good book. Or hide in the closet and eat an entire bag of chocolate. Not that I would know anything about that. :glare:
  19. I added 3 scoops of oxyclean and used ivory soap instead of Naptha. That made a considerable difference. I have also increased the amount of soap to 1/2 bar per recipe. Vinegar is an "okay" softner that reduces hard water and build up. I still use softner but will add a little vinegar for a boost. I bleach all my whites, so dingyness has not been an issue for me. Overall, the home-made detergent does the job. I will sometimes use purex if I run out or don't feel like making a batch. HTH
