  1. I never used to make fried rice, but the last couple of times I made it, dh said he could make it a meal. I suppose I should be making more. I used the precooked brown organic rice from Costco, so that saved some time.
  2. Salted Caramel Cluster Cashewmilk Ice Cream Expensive goat/sheep cheeses Pecan halves (I buy these regularly.)
  3. I made that last night and had leftovers for lunch today.
  4. @ScoutTN, congratulations on the job, but I'm sorry about ds's loss and the rude SS person. The hip-hop dance class was different but fun. I could do most everything and kept up, so that was encouraging. Maybe I'm not too old or out of shape! I talked to my older sister for a while tonight. I might go to her house and spend the night later this week. Texted with ds. He is considering moving in with dd for the summer and getting a job in Chattanooga rather than living at home. He didn't grow up here, so this has never felt like home to him. It's a small, boring town, so I get it. He only has 3 weeks left of the school year, so I supposed he'll move stuff home and then work on finding a job up there.
  5. Good morning! Dh is off to school with all his food for the day. He works at the charter school tonight. I did some Bible study already. 4 Zoom sessions food and coffee for me tidy house 1 new in-person student a couple of errands out go to an exercise class with my walking friends prep for tomorrow watch something and relax
  6. @prairiewindmomma, congrats on your dd's team doing so well!! I'm sorry about the layoff and possibly having to move. I'm sure that won't be easy for any of you! @TheReader, cookies sound very good right now! I hope the views turn out better for all of you than expected. I saw the last eclipse and had a great view. My best friend and our kids went to TN and stayed at my sister's house. I think I have some glasses packed in school or sentimental boxes, but I didn't take the time to find them. I doubt we'll have much here anyway. I made the egg roll in a bowl and stir-fried rice. Yummy! We both have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. We watched the second episode of We Were the Lucky Ones on Hulu. So good!!!
  7. @HomeAgain, what a great story you shared about the team! Congratulations to your ds!! We went to church. We decided to go to Subway afterward because we had coupons. The guy checking us out was a student of dh's last year, and he gave us a free sandwich! It pays off being a teacher kids actually like! I'm going to work on the budget because I haven't got to that all weekend. I want to do more of my Bible study for Wednesday night, too.
  8. We walked 2.5 miles this afternoon. They want to go to a local hip-hop dance class Monday night, so I might try it. I watched a couple of episodes of Poldark. I was thawing out a pork roast for tomorrow. It thawed earlier than I thought, so I made it for dinner along with green beans and mashed potatoes.
  9. @athena1277, I'm sorry and hope you feel better soon! We are going walking at 2:00. I just finished the homework assignments for next week.
  10. @HomeAgain, I hope the game goes well for your ds!! @math teacher, I hope the water heater is working. Dh would never attempt something like that. I have enjoyed sleeping in the rest of this week! I made biscuits and gravy this morning because I've been craving it. I did some Bible study. tidy house go walk with a couple of friends early this afternoon pay bills/update the big budget book finish anything I need to do for school next week do some planning ahead on school for ending the year start a summer to-do list dinner (egg roll in a bowl and stir-fried rice) play a game watch something and relax
  11. I had my shower, and now I need to get ready. I’m going to breakfast with a friend. I meet the kid at the library again this morning. I’ll check back in later. Hope you all have a great start to your day!
  12. Ds is featured several times in this video from his school if it will play for you. His name is David. https://fb.watch/rf0tcP3qDD/
  13. @ScoutTN, I'm glad you have a path you can pursue. Praying it all goes smoothly! @mommyoffive, I hope the tea helps! I met with the new student. He is really far behind in math, and he just entered public school this second semester of his 9th grade year. They have him in a class doing a self-paced course on a computer. He really needs instruction, so we are going to schedule him meeting a lot with me and possibly a good bit during the summer to do some catching up. The mom homeschooled until now, and it sounds like they tried a lot of different curricula and tutors here and there. I meet with him again in the morning. He actually lives super close to me, but it is across a 5 lane highway, so he can't walk here. His house has a bunch of kids and dogs, so it wouldn't be quiet. That's why we met at the library near both of us.
  14. @mommyoffive I hope your day is easier than you think! @TheReader, I hope the registration goes smoothly! Good morning! It was nice to sleep in. I have 4 students today, so it will feel like a regular workday. coffee/breakfast Bible study 2 Zoom sessions leftovers from Naf Naf for lunch meet a new student at the library (less than a mile from my house and he can walk there to meet me) one student here at the house walk with friends dinner, not sure what tidy kitchen/house work on lessons for next week figure out what I want/need to do with the rest of the weekend watch something and relax
  15. We are home!!! It was a great trip, but I'm glad to be back. I have some work lined up for the next two days, so I must unpack and prepare for tomorrow.
  16. Good afternoon! We woke up to a lot of rain, so we took our time getting ready to leave. We’re are out of the rain now and going to stop at my favorite, Naf Naf Grill, for dinner.
  17. @mommyoffive and @HomeAgain I’m sorry about the storm! @TravelingChris, I pray everything goes well while he is gone! @ScoutTN, I pray you find the best option for work! We are unsure of our retirement situation mainly because of our move. We took on a bigger mortgage to move near my dad. That’s the opposite of what most people do in their 50s. I love my job, and I’ll make more this coming school year than I ever have. It’s not stable, though. I hope I can keep doing it a long time and it will be enough. If Daddy needs to move in with us, that could change everything. He will contribute financially if he does. We saw a few more sights at New River this morning, and we are on our way to Shenandoah!
  18. @stephanier.1765 I've had the same problem in the past. The main thing that has made the difference for me is getting a Skechers shoe that states it is air-cooled and wearing thin, no show socks.
  19. @dirty ethel rackham, thank you for the update and so glad she is alive! I'm sorry this is turning out differently than you prayed for. It is so hard when we pray for certain things and they seem to go the opposite way. I pray you will find solace in the fact you have done all you can.
  20. @DawnMthinking of you! The day is coming up soon for me, too, so I can relate! We had a great day here in New River Gorge! We hiked about 4 miles total and saw some great views. We will do a couple of things tomorrow morning before we head over to Shenandoah. I need to be FB or Instagram friends with more of you so you can see all the pics.
  21. Dd and dh visited some parks in CA last summer. For Christmas, she asked for a water bottle with all the national parks on it, so she is trying to visit as many as she can.
  22. Good morning! We went to Mammoth Cave yesterday, and we are on our way to New River Gorge in WV. 3 national parks in 4 days is probably a crazy goal, but dd wanted us to do this trip together, so that is great! I hope you all had a great Resurrection Sunday!
