For Christmas, I made dh a "man room." His own space in the house that's only for him.

We read a chapter with the kids every night.
For myself, I'd say that you can read through it in a year while taking breaks to study parts that catch your attention more carefully.

If he's going through a growth spurt he could be waking up hungry.

Here's my list for each room do far (hoping to get it done over the next two weeks):
Living Room
Done - declutter living room
Done - sweep around wood stove
Done - vacuum furniture
- mop living room
- dust furniture & windowsils
Done - vacuum curtains
Done - weed out shoes that kids don't wear
Done - straighten end table drawers
Done - clean out under coffee table
- move couches & vacuum underneath
- dust fan
Dining Room
- organize school shelves
- declutter & organize cabinet
- scrub down dining room table and chairs
- mop dining room
Done - clean dining room windows
- clean out under changing table
- wipe down woodwork
- dust fan
Kitchen
- empty china cabinet, clean shelves & glass, put dishes back
- move book boxes out of kitchen
- organize kitchen drawers
Done - sort through junk drawer
- organize spice rack
- clean out under the sink
- sort out cabinet under stove
- scrub down stovetop
Done - empty sink & scrub out
- throw away old foodstuffs
- empty fridge and clean the inside
- wipe down cabinet fronts
- mop kitchen
- clean kitchen windows
Playroom
Done - throw away broken toys
Done - put toys back where they go
- weed out toys to take to Goodwill
- clean windows & mirror
- shake out carpet

Ugh. I hardly got anything done today. I was out with the kids most of the day and then we had company to dinner (which was good).
I'm hoping to get a solid hour in tomorrow morning. I'm going to ask dh to entertain the kids so I can clean in peace.

I'd go ahead and cancel it. If they ask why, let them know your concerns about it in a "I bet you didn't know that stuff was in there" type of way. I thought Girl's Life was ok until I read those reviews.

Ok, my focus today is going to be the living room. With all the Christmas stuff in there, I need to clean it anyway. So I'm going to do my list items in there.

For my husband, I made a "man room." I totally cleared out our old office room, hung up some cool posters, got him a foosball table, beer, and a "Do Not Enter" sign for the door. It was a winner :)

I need to get my 3yo ds shoes anyway and a local store is having a good sale tomorrow.

I'd recommend Rosetta Stone. It's expensive, but it's worth it if you can afford it.

I'll only have a little time to put in this morning, as we're meeting friends for a field trip at 10am. I'm going to try to do 1 or 2 things while I get the kids ready to go. Then I'll edit my list to reflect things done.
Any more cleaning site recommendations? How about books? Movies?

Can you find another doctor? I can't imagine going to the guy you describe.

Take them out on the street & whack them around with a badminton or tennis racket.
If they're light enough to wash, I'd do that too, after beating them.
