Do you have anything in the pantry to work with?

That daycarelady forms site is great. Thanks for posting!

I didn't start out with a contract, and I had parents taking advantage of me.
I've been having that happen lately with a client who is always late, whether she's dropping off or picking up. She said she would be here this morning at 8am. We needed to be somewhere nearby by 9am. She didn't get here until 8:45. She gives me a time for dropoffs and pickups, but I think in her head it's a range, not a specific time.

I have four of my own children, homeschool and do childcare from home. The only other childcare-providing homeschooler I met was an unschooler, so (I'm guessing) there was less work required for mom on the homeschooling front. Some days I get most of it done, the housework, the enriching activities for the younger kids, the homeschooling, along with the nursing, diaper-changing, conflict mediation, scheduling, phone-answering, bill-paying... other days I think I need there to be another two of me.
Anyone else here doing childcare and homeschooling? Am I just crazy? Any tips for making things run more smoothly?

I don't have a specific number. I allow what fits in with my work schedule (I do childcare) and our homeschooling schedule.
Right now ds1 takes taekwondo 2 or 3 nights a week.
All but the baby take gymnastics on Tuesdays.

I take one class a semester, homeschool and do childcare in my home.

My husband read all three books with our eight year old and was ok with them.

I would leave the boys' room blue, myself, just because I hate seeing white walls. I've been looking at house pictures online because dh is interviewing for jobs Elsewhere and I hate seeing white walls in the houses.

Ok, I can't remember the exact verse, but Paul says something like "I have learned to be content no matter what the circumstances."

John Howard Yoder is a Mennonite writer. I always hear folks at church recommending him.

If I have something to go to, I would call her and let her know where we'll be and tell her that she can pick her daughter up there.

The Developmental Math series doesn't have much reading in it at all.

I wouldn't make him participate because it's not one of those things where you can quit in good conscience if you really do hate it.

We will be watching it and doing a lesson about it. Whether or not I like what's happening, it's homeschool-worthy.

I chose not to get the blood screen test because of the high false alarm rate. I had an ultrasound with my first pregnancy and no other testing with the other three.

We have six months of expenses in a regular savings account.

I wouldn't let your own fears about math or the way you were taught stop you from using materials that could help your children learn better thinking skills. It will likely improve your own math as well, and you can learn right alongside them.

We've been using GEICO for a couple years now and I am pleased with them. They're much cheaper than State Farm was.
Their claims service has been excellent. I've been in two accidents since going with them. One where a lady sideswiped my car and then took off. Their "hit and run" coverage took care of the damage and the rental car. Then three weeks ago, I was rear ended by a driver who also had GEICO. They were very prompt about following up, have returned all of my calls quickly. They're paying to replace all of our car seats because of the accident.

Like a previous poster, I've found that I am learning a lot with the classical education methods. I imagine if I'm learning this much, then it's got to be good for the children.

The activity guide has so much to do! I would definately buy that rather than just the student book.
