  1. I was just over at www.cbd.com, and they have Singapore Chemistry Matters. This is by the same company that makes Singaport Math. I tried to find more information about it online, but so far I have not been able to. Anyway, there are samples at CBD. This is just another option for you to consider. I hope this helps.:001_smile:
  2. You might want to check out Math Relief Alegbra 1 at www.mathrelief.com and the Key to Alegbra series. Another option is to order the alegbra 1 dvds at www.mathtutordvd.com.:001_smile:
  3. Has anyone used Mathusee for Geometry? I am considering using this with LOF Geometry.
  4. Also, I didn't purchase her dvd's and now I wish I had.:tongue_smilie:
  5. I have it but haven't used it yet; my boys are 5th & 7th grade. I attended Inge Cannon's bootcamp sessions at my homeschool conference a couple of years ago. She provided a wealth of information during her talks. I printed a book from one of the cd's and she covered that material. She talked about more that just transcripts. If I remember, she talked about whether to count classes taken before high school on the transcript, GEDs, figuring credits, etc. Sorry, I have limited experience with this, but based on what I have seen so far, it appears to be worth the money. :)
  6. You might want to consider Math Relief. You can check it out at www.mathrelief.com. I am planning to use this with my 8th grader in the fall.
  7. You might want to check at www.brightideaspress.com and click store and other links. There is information about using this for highschool and links to the yahoo groups for MOH that could provide you with the information you are looking for.:001_smile:
  8. I just received an email for an ONLINE homeschool conference taking place May 12-14, 2010. The link is www.SchoolhouseExpo.com. I believe the cost is about $20.00. :)
  9. I actually ordered the bundle very recently from the Biblioplan website. The updates for highschool and the 8th grade+ reading suggestions are in the manual. The information on the website I was referring to is the maps, parent E-book, cool history and timeline material. I think Biblioplan needs to update the manual samples online.
  10. Biblioplan has totally upgraded their guides. Now the highschool supplements are including and recommended readings now include 4 age groups: k-2nd, 3rd +, 5th + and now 8+. They also now include readings from Streams of Civilation for older students. The new recommendations and additional available resources on their site have now made it very usable for high school. We are using American/World History 1600-1850 for 5th & 7th. Now I am serious considering using BP for ancients and medieval for high school. :001_smile:
  11. We have been using R&S for 5 years now, and we LOVE it. Great program.:glare:
  12. Go to www.bfbooks.com and look on the home page. On the left side under Q&A, there is a link for sample pages. I hope this helps.
  13. Three big duds for us were: History of US - my sons actually asked me to stop reading this.:001_huh: Spellwell - easy and no retention. R&S spelling - too much work! This was taking all day. We dumped this after few weeks. We love R&S English and Math though.
  14. It is the Illinois Christian Home Educators conference. You can get more information at www.iche.org. I think it is in June this year.:001_smile:
  15. You might want to check out www.chaldkdust.com and www.askdrcallahan.com and www.mathrelief.com. I hope this helps.
  16. You might want to check out www.learnandmaster.com. We are using the guitar program and really like it. You can also find reviews of this at http://www.amazon.com.;)
  17. Thanks for the information. Does anyone else have any feedback?:001_smile:
  18. When I was checking out LA a couple of years ago, I joined the Yahoo group. There is a ton of information, or was, in that group. You might want to check it out. I am sure you could fine suggestions from people who may have used this for highschool.;)
  19. I am currently looking for an algebra program for my 12 year old son. He is finishing R & S Math 7. We will begin Life of Fred Pre-Algebra plus Biology soon but only as a supplement. I'm looking for a complete program for algebra 1 & 2. Also, my son is good with math, but it is not his favorite subject. Has anyone used Math Relief? If so, what did you like about it and what was not so great? Any and all feedback will be greatly appreciated.:)
  20. I am no expert on this subject, but what about him attending a cc part-time for his last year of highschool. He could take some introductory college courses and also study topics of interest at home.;)
  21. You might want to check out Bibliplan at www.bibloplan.net.
  22. Go to www.rainbowresource.com and type in "violin book". This was something I considered when my son started playing.
  23. Since we do most of the lessons orally, I use all the worksheets. They provide an easy way to do written practice.
  24. At www.cbd.com you can see video samples of each subject in the Bob Jones curriculum kits.
