  1. I know everyone is going to be casual. But, that will mean springy skirts and such. I have not been shopping for myself this season...and, only have one spring-type dress that is more dressy. I wore it to sing in a wedding. I think it's too dressy. I look good in brown. I have a brown, short-sleeved shirt that matches a skirt with tan, brown, turquoise, and I think one other light color. Or, I have a cute black skirt with white poka-dots...that flares at the bottom. The blouse I wear with that is a white, flowy, piratey-type style. Does that make sense? However, I would need to wear my black shoes with that. Does black work for a bridal luncheon? I guess I can figure something else out...or, go shopping in the A.M. tomorrow. Sigh... Thanks for any thoughts! Be kind!! Smiles! ~Holly
  2. I haven't had it done...but, I know my dermatologist's office offers that treatment. Maybe you should check there. ??? ~Holly
  3. Two thoughts... 1. I'm thinking Rousseau is not dead and we will see her, again. 2. It would not surprise me if Ben made up that whole story to get Rousseau, Alex, and the boyfriend out in the open so his goons could get rid of Rousseau and the boyfriend. I think it's the Others that shot them both. ??? ~Holly
  4. I am in charge of the "Community Corner" for our VBS program at church this summer. I will be talking to the children about the importance of serving others. I have decided that I want to have one main project that we all work on for the week...putting together care packages for the elderly and shut-ins from our church. What kinds of ideas can you give me? I need some easy ideas for the younger children and more advanced things for the older group. The age will range from 5-12yo. For the older children: I thought they could write letters telling a little about themselves...weave paper place mats...make something with air-drying and paint it...??? For the younger: color pictures...make bookmarks...make a frame with popsicle sticks around the scripture theme for the week... ??? I'm still working on ideas that will be easy to accomplish within 5 days...with 25 minutes per session. Thanks for any ideas! ~Holly
  5. Maybe... We had about 10 monarchs last year...live to be butterflies. I hope we get more that survive this year. Thanks! ~Holly
  6. Will milkweed beetles kill monarch caterpillars? I am baffled as to where all our monarch caterpillars are. We had about 8 last week...then, it was down to 4. This morning...none. They were still young caterpillars...nowhere near the time to go off to form their crystallis. ~Holly
  7. Are my children meeting public school standards? I hope not! The schools in our area teach to the F-CAT! I shudder at the stories I hear from my friends who send their children to public school. ~Holly
  8. It IS very expensive...but, I think I will go with my first thought and give it to her privately. Maybe I'll givel her a hint of what it is and let her decide if she wants to open it in the group. She is the only student of mine that has stayed in contact with me all these years. I taught her when she was in the 4th grade! We e-mail each other throughout the year...and, she has sent me a Christmas card every year! She came to my wedding when she was 10yo! I wish I could attend hers, but it's at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart at Notre Dame University. She said she'll have us over for supper after the honeymoon! I love her to pieces!! Smiles! ~Holly
  9. A former student of mine is getting married and I have been invited to the bridal luncheon. We had lunch about a month ago and she mentioned wanting her face to look nice for the wedding and pictures...saying she had just had a facial peal gthe day before. She has some scarring from high school acne. Anyway, I e-mailed the company where I buy my facial cleaning products and moisturizers, DHC, and they told me just the kit I should get her. I went ahead and ordered it, but now I'm wondering if it will embarrass her or if she'll think it's thoughtful. Knowing her, she'll love whatever I get her! I am also getting her lingerie...but, don't want the kit to be odd. Any opinions? Maybe I should give that to her privately and have her open the lingerie at the luncheon. Thanks! ~Holly
  10. This is quite fascinating! Thanks! ~Holly
  11. Thanks for posting this! I've been seriously considering having this procedure done. ~Holly
  12. Is SWB's new series, The Complete Writer something to use in the place of Writing Strands? Thanks for any info! ~Holly
  13. Well, he did explain that the Federal Agent died...so, maybe that accounts for one of the 8. Would that would mean there is another person who died on the island? I want to know why they are lying about only 8 people surviving. That is driving me crazy! ~Holly
  14. If Claire was not allowed off the island for some reason, maybe she asked Kate to take the baby with her to get him off the island. ??? ~Holly
  15. Just a few comments regarding that blog you found... I don't see any mention of being a home schooler. I would imagine her children go to school. Also, I found a post a bit down on the page where she mentions being on a trip to Las Vegas with her husband. Just the husband? Me thinks this woman's husband has a high-paying job which affords her money to shop and be a stylish-sahm. ??? That being said, I have many home schooling friends that always look nice...casual...but, very nice and stylist. I'm not one of them! Hee, hee... ~Holly
  16. I'm not sure a free eating *day* is a good idea...but, one free meal with dessert during week would be better. You could essentially eat all the calories you have eliminated in the one week...on one day if you are not careful. It would be okay to skip a day of exercise, though. Also, just to be clear...I don't eat ANY sweetener of any kind. I do put raw honey in my home-made bread and muffins...but, I do not consume any type of sweetener other than that. Besides, I control the amount and cut it in half in all the bread items I make. You are on your way!!! ~Holly
  17. Cut out sweets/sugar! I have lost 17 pounds just by making that change in my diet! If you add in exercise and slowly change your eating habits...like no more fast food...you will see a big change. One more tip, use a salad/lunch plate for your meals so you start cutting down on portion sizes. Take baby steps! ~Holly
  18. Nutrimill sounds like a vacuum machine, in my opinion. And, yes...it is probably more quiet than others! I put the mill on top of my washing machine in the garage so it's not noisy in the house. I check on it every few minutes to see the progress. ~Holly
