How often do you wash your cat or dog's dishes?
eclecticschooler replied to Snow's topic in The Chat Board
Hardly ever. If they look dirty. The dogs eat horse poop. They obviously aren't picky. I do rinse the water bowls daily and wipe them out with a paper towel. no soap involved though! -

Great news! I hope he continues to improve. Colic is scary. I have had to deal with it three times. Hugs to you. -
My dd is the same age. She is ahead in math but is dyslexic and her writing skills are not up to grade level. I am waiting a yr for hs. I have a 17 yo sr this yr also. I don't regret accelerating her. She is ready but my next one won't be. My 13 yo also has OCD and anxiety issues. My plan is that she can always do cc earlier if she is ready.

Another hint that might help....I preview the bridges and review information if needed. It is often a vocabulary issue for us. For instance, the difference between cardinal and ordinal numbers. It has helped a lot and the information sticks. The bridges do get better. I have remained firm on the passing guidelines. If my dd is failing too many of them, we slow down. Lof is a supplement for us.

It is a pattern of 2 times 4, 3 times 9, four times sixteen, five times twenty five where the second number is squared. hth!

I don't know if you are talking about in person AP classes or online ones. If online AP classes, then hands down I would choose face to face community classes. They have been invaluable to my dd's education. She is interviewing with top tier colleges and they are all saying that her having f2f courses at the community college level is a great advantage to her application.

We use it as a supplement to our math program. For us, it is great review and learning concepts a bit differently to really help get them cemented in the mind. I am big believer in teaching kids how to think. LOF has been great for us. I highly recommend it! We are using Pre-Alg with Econ and LOF Physics along with a regular Algebra program for my 13 yo. My 11 yo is using Pre-Alg with Biology. We normally do four lessons a week with LOF (each of them if we are doing multiple per child) and then slow down if comprehension is not happening.

Algebra after finishing Singapore....
eclecticschooler replied to MamaHappy's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
I think it depends on the age of the child and development level. I did a year of Pre-Algebra with both of mine. Then we were able to move through Algebra at a quicker pace and have a solid foundation with it. That is what has worked for our family. -
We bought an HP Officejet Pro from Costco and I love it! So easy to use and wasn't very expensive either.

You can still have cereal...just with almond milk or soy milk or any of the other alternatives. In cereal it is much easier to get used to than drinking it! My dd's antiobiotic is Doryx I believe.

We are vegan. No milk products here. I took my dd to the dermatologist and she did not dismiss us at all. The dr. thought she could get 50-75% improvement and I would say it is closer to 100%. We are very pleased. My dd did oral in combo with topical for a while and now just takes oral if she gets a reddish breakout of any kind.
