  1. Perhaps some people that don't have "time" for cleaning actually do not have the energy. Perhaps they have cancer, fibromyalgia, or an autoimmune disorder. Perhaps their kids will not allow them to lay down on the bed or sofa, but will allow them to sit down at a computer... perhaps.
  2. Interesting. Thank you for sharing. Hmmm... I disagree. If she got a break from her kids maybe she wouldn't be so on edge.
  3. I had tried Math Mammoth because of the "work text" appeal. We had been doing Teaching Textbooks without the workbook for half of the level. We have only had the workbook recently and WOW!!! It is a work text! I am just so deliriously happy with Teaching Textbooks now. We can do the entire math lesson without the computer if we so choose, but still have the CDs for extra motivation or help. So impressed!
  4. I am not fit to homeschool. I am even less fit to prepare and recover my kids from PS. :D
  5. I have thought about doing a post like that too. :001_smile:

  7. I can never keep up with yahoo groups, but here is our social group on here: Heart of Dakota HOD and facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/FansofHoD/ You are invited!
  8. Here's the thing: I chose TWTM because LA skills are a priority, it is mostly reading and there is a lot of flexibility. With HOD you lose that flexibility, and not everyone can use the CM style LA. For history and literature with TWTM, for example, the child reads 3 books of their choosing and then does one creative notebook page... with HOD they read 3 pages someone else chose and do a notebook page that is scripted for them. We also wanted way more out of our science and will always choose to spend more time on science than history/literature, which makes it harder to use a scripted history program. I do plan to do Preparing soon, and R to R eventually, but will choose only half of the history books that are scheduled to save time and money.
  9. :001_wub: There is a large chance the kids will tell him and he will make them feel very guilty even if all they did was take some candy from the school party. Oh thanks!
  10. I let my DD make her own decisions or at least discuss the decisions with us about some of these things because she also has God's Spirit. ;) I would rather her learn how to rely on Him instead of other people telling her what to do.
  11. I am glad you mentioned that. It is my nephew's birthday. Don't want to forget!
  12. :grouphug: I am glad I am not alone. It is lovely to hear that things are going well.
