  1. This is an incredible thread!! I am so glad you posted with your concerns. It really confirms for me why I am choosing to teach my children with the Classical method. Thank you ladies for your wonderful responses:grouphug:
  2. Thanks ladies! I think I'm going to go ahead and get the text just in case. Better safe than sorry right?
  3. Thanks SO much for taking the time to do this! I think 3 would be a perfect book for my DD:001_smile:
  4. On the curriculum map at Peace Hill Press it says FLL is grammar:001_smile:
  5. Changed the title to make it more specific. Can anyone help?
  6. I was looking at this book. Is this different than Writing with Ease Strong Fundamentals? When I plug in the ISBN at my library it comes up with: Writing with Ease Strong Fundamentals. However, it shows up as:The Complete Writer: Writing with Ease: Instructor Text at Amazon. They both have a 2008 copyright date.
  7. I was looking at this book. Is this different than Writing with Ease Strong Fundamentals? I can't find the latter anywhere. I am getting the workbooks.
  8. I bought R&S 3 for grammar before I decided to create my own curriculum. I just want to make sure that FLL is also grammar and that I wont need both. Since I'm not going boxed, I don't know how to incorporate independent readers and read-alouds. Do the books have to coordinate with what we are studying? If so, how do I go about this? TY:)
  9. I think this would be GREAT:001_smile: I looked at HSS a while back and have it bookmarked. I was really impressed with how much they have on there-and for free at that:party:
  10. I've cleaned an oven once-where it self cleans. Good Heavens! I thought we would all have to put on HAZMAT suits. I've never used the store bought cleaners, but I'm sure they would make me pass out:tongue_smilie: I think I'd rather clean the fridge:D
  11. So glad that it finally worked out! Ridiculous that you had to do SO much work to get YOUR money back. This def. has me leery now:glare:
  12. I hear ya! Still 80's-90's here in TX. Having moved from Oregon 90 days ago, this does not feel like Fall. I'm SO over this miserable summer:glare:
  13. Poo! Someone must have snatched it up. I have never heard of the books, but now what them all:lol:
  14. She's incredibly good at spelling. I looked at some general spelling books in Mardels and she could spell the words in a 5th grade book. I know all curriculum "levels" are different though. Last year in 2nd grade her class spelled all of the: thought, though tough and words like navigator, typewriter etc. We never even studied at home and she got 100% each time.
  15. Thanks Ladies:grouphug: I guess I'll put it on hold for now and see what happens with his writing and reading. I'll spend time with his basic handwriting to make sure he is forming letters correctly in manuscript. I assume he doesn't need a spelling book then either?
  16. Here is a game they could play. You will need to register, but it's free State Abbreviations State abbreviations and zip codes were implemented in 1963:)
  17. DS isn't reading yet and his letters aren't too bad (he mostly writes in caps, but does not start letters from their correct point). Is WWE1 a bit too much at this point.
  18. So should I put her in 3? What about DS age 6? Does a first grader need spelling?
  19. 40. I'm currently 37 and would have loved to have had bigger family if DH and I had started earlier. We do not have plans for more children though.
  20. I'm planning on WWE 2 for my 3rd grader and WWE1 for my 1st grader. Is the IG essential?
  21. Planning your day/schedule for teaching- Do you use a particular planner? Do you plan a week in advance or more? Any tips or tricks you can give me? Blog posts or threads with good info for newbies? Thanks:)
