    Bump! Ditto to the Harry Potter comment. I highly recommend John Granger's "Finding God in Harry Potter." It is well worth the read!

    I have seriously considered taking my monthly mother's meeting and turning it into a "non sectarian homeschooling group." Where families who want to focus on "homeschooling" can do just that. Religious and political affiliations need not be part of the equation. The common denominator that everyone in the group is a "homeschooler" is enough.

    Bingo! Our family is quickly coming to the same conclusion in regard to the hsing groups in our area. We joined a group because Dd wanted to meet other homeschooled children. However in reality the group has a "clique" mentality with biting, bickering and backstabbing being commonplace behavior. Suffice to say if things don't change I don't think we will be renewing our membership this coming year.
