  1. I am hoping to graduate early, possibly by spring of next year I want to finish high school and start my prereqs, then start applying to some of the programs (Medical Assisting and Medical Billing and Coding are by far my favorite, so I will be applying for those). I am grateful for all of your advice and tips, it is appreciated!:D
  2. Hmmm, I am only using 75 mg capsules, maybe I need to up the strength of the medication? Acne.org irritated my face so badly that I thought it would fall off!!!!!! I also have eliminated almost all dairy products, and yes there has been a huge difference!!:) But bleh, I hate my acne, I cannot use OTC products at all, they irritate my face that I almost had to visit a hospital due to the poor condition it left my face in. So no OTC, even the sensitive skin ones, that is why I was prescribed pills to take. Liz, are the Chelated Zinc pills prescribed? Thank you all for the suggestions though!
  3. Nan, you make many excelllent points that I didn't even consider! I like to be up and moving, I hate being still but I can remain still if I needed to. I would prefer to live in the country and I would be willing to travel to work in the city or suburban area. I enjoy working with people as well as indepently, I don't enjoy working with people in distress, so Xray tech might not be a wise choice. I have a strong stomach so I can work well with an operating team, I am a fast processor of information, and I enjoy accomplishing tasks. I am going to try to find people in the field I can shadow to get an idea of some of the work. My dad is having me help him with his work and I enjoy it immensely (he is a medical biller and coder). Thank you so very much Nan, your advice is always so helpful to me!!:001_smile:
  4. A few months back, (about 5 or so months) I visited a new dermatologist and he prescribed some medication for me to take. They were pills that should control the majority if not all the acne and cream to reduce oiliness. Well things just weren't working the way they were supposed to, and I went back last Monday. He prescribed a new cream that isn't working, and now I am becoming frustrated. I want my clear face back, but I don't know if I should make another appointment, or look for a whole new derm. Should I be firmer with him and tell him I need better medication? Should I bring my dad along so he would possibly take me more seriously than what he has been? I am just so tired of the struggle, I want it all to go away!:tongue_smilie:
  5. I have made a tough decision, but over much thought and prayer have come to terms wit my choice although it hasn't been an easy ride. Now that I know where I am going, all that needs to be done is deciding between all the great choices that my school offers. I have narrowed it down to a small list, if you all could help me with maybe picking one? Here is the list: Medical assisting Medical Billing and Coding Medical Administration Surgical Tech Xray tech A few others as well, but i am most interrsted in these fields, I would just like to know the nqture of the jobs, job outlooks, and possibly even pay. I would prefer a job that pays well and is flexible. Sorry for short and messy post, trying to do it on smart phone. Will try on computer tomorrow, and thank you!
  6. I have a new baby brother!!!! Brayden Gabriel was born March 8, 2012 at 8:00 pm, weighed 8lbs 8oz, and is the 8th child!!! He is absolutely precious, mom is healthy and all is fine. After a long board break it is good to be back. I am so thankful for my family!!:001_smile:
  7. I would!! My mom is a great cleaner, now I know where I get it from!! And your daughter is so cute!!!!!
  8. :iagree: I am trying to go more vegetarian, the only thing I can't seem to give up is poultry and fish!:D But it honestly easy to switch meals from omnivore to herbivore, just give recipes a tweak here and there and you have a good meal!
  9. I don't dread spring cleaning really, I have an obsession with cleaning actually! I love to clean, organize, label, I just feel like I can accomplish so much and I feel good about it too. But if I had to dread one thing, it would be cleaning my older brother's room, YUCK!!!! (He cannot clean to save his life, literally it is disgusting):tongue_smilie:
  10. I loathe the word and never ever use it!! I used to get into fights with kids because I would stick up for them, my sister has a slight learning disability and I fought for her as well. (Never physical, but verbal). I just recently had to stop volunteering at a rehabilitation school for kids with learning disabilities, but I loved every minute of it. I will fight for those kids, this world has just let things whither away for far too long.
  11. All of your replies are grateful and highly appreciated as I really needed some advice in this area. I am going to be persuing a degree in Accounting if all things come together, and if not, then I will be get a degree in medical billing and coding. But I am aiming for Accounting, so this is hopefully where I will make it to. I do not want to spend the rest of my life working in McD's! I hate fast food:tongue_smilie: Thank you again for you awesome advice, and I cannot wait to see what happens in the future.:001_smile:
  12. I have an excellent memory and work quickly, that is why medical billing and coding was an option. I enjoy history and will most likely keep it as a hobby of mine, and will probably go into Accounting or Medical Billing and Coding, we'll see. My dad wants to try and get me into MB/C field after he advances farther into the field, it is a great field as is Accounting. If I can graduate with something like MB/C, work to obtain more money, and then head off to college, the debt load will hopefully decrease. I have many colleges near me that offer Accounting and they are all excellent schools!:)
  13. No thanks!! I wouldn't make a good teacher, I wouldn't be luvinglife so to speak;). So option 2 sounds like a better plan, I know what I want, now I just need to get there, and I can see myself doing Accounting and keeping history as a hobby of mine. Thank you all for the advice!
  14. :tongue_smilie: I was afraid of that, but that's okay, it just opens my eyes a little wider to reality!! I am going to go ahead do a double major in history with accounting/buisness, or buisness with a history minor. Oye, sometimes reality hurts.:glare:
  15. I like this, remember everyone is different, so for those that have success on one may not have it on another.
  16. Of Course!! It is so simple and easy, especially for those who don't wnjoy cooking, then this is a great diet. My friend struggled at first as well, but it becomes easier as time goes on. Okay, so here my attempt at trying to explain;). Let's begin with breakfast, what do you usually eat? My friend usually eats eggs and toast w/coffee or cold cereal in warmer months, on the days she can splurge a bit, she will add in a slice or two of canadian bacon which is a good breakfast, but not everyday. She eats around 8:00 am and doesn't start feeling hungry until 12:00 noon, if you feel hungry during that time, distract yourself w/something else, chewing gum is a great way to lose hunger pains. Lunch time (or whenever you feel hungry, usually between 12:00 and 1:00pm) take out a plate that measures about 8 or so inches in diameter, and make some lunch! Honestly my friend threw out everything that is over processed or things that contain lots of sugar. For lunch she either eats leftovers, a sandwich or yogurt w/fruit/veggies. Put them meal onto the plate, and do not go for seconds. Drinking a large glass of water with every meal is very helpful for filling youself up without the extra calories. Dinner is aorund 6:00 or 7:00 pm and she again makes what she wants(all healthy food, if you want pasta, then have a little pasta!) and places it to fit on one plate, a large glass of water, tea, or lemonade with the meal makes a perfect compliment to a perfect day. Did I explain it well? If you need more detail don't be afraid to ask!! My friend has a few food allergies she needs to be cautious of, and the beauty of this diet is that you can adapt it to fit you needs. Do you prefer healthier food, then make it healthier! Have fun with it, enjoy your food, don't shove it down your throat like I used to and go up for more. One plate is perfect for her now, and she looks amazing! (This from a girl with a low metabolism and doesn't exercise. For the S days (Saturday and Sunday, holidays etc.) she enjoys her favorite desserts, or food, again in moderation, After dinner if she wants a piece of cake, she can have a small piece!! (Note: Always eat dessert after dinner or a meal, it helps to not over indulge). If she wants to have some cookies, take two and have your favorite beverage (i.e. milk, tea, water, but nothing that contains a lot of sugar). It's really simple, and makes perfect sense. I'd recommend reading the book, or his website, it explains things well. Here are some tips: If you feel hungry or need to add in a 4th small meal, make it healthy, like yougurt, veggies, nuts, granola, fruit, etc. If you feel hungry but are not really ready, drink a glass of water or chew some gum. Eating fruit and veggies with meals is a great way to add some extra nutrients and takes away extra calories.:D Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to make it sound clear and helpful. I hope this helps you!! ADD: Try also not to think of it as a diet, but a lifestyle change, if you think of it as a diet, then it will become a boring old diet...
  17. I can't help it, I'm hopelessly in love with History, I enjoy it, I live it, and I practically breathe it on occasion it has become a major part of my life. I enjoy historical events, researching and writing decriptive reports/essays on it, and I just can't seem to get enough of it. I know it is not an ideal job area, but I don't feel as though I would enjoy anything else but this. Now I know many people who cannot believe I would enter a field such as this, but why take a job that pays lots of money that I may loathe compared to a passion of mine which I very much enjoy? Well, I have a plan, nothing is set in stone, but it is something I have been working daily at. Here is the plan that is subject to change if necessary: 1. I take a few years off, learn a trade (i.e. medical billing and coding/Medical Assisting) and earn enough money to help put myself through college. 2. I major in Histpry, but minor in buisness or maybe even a double major in buisness and History, I was told by many that this would be a wise plan as then I would have something to fall back onto. So this is what I am trying to acheive, I am considering taking about 2 years off to become a certified MA or MB/C as then I would have a job that would allow me to work while still being able to attend school. I believe this would be a wiser choice as it could take awhile for me to land a secure job in the field. Would you follow a passion? Or would you listen to those around you and go for a job that would leave you feeling disastisfied with what you do?:bigear:
  18. I'd want to visit South Africa and provide, food, shelter, the Gospel and clothing for those who are without. I would love to do something for myself, but I'd rather have the chance to do for the least of us.;) I just can't resist their sweet faces!
  19. Has she taken any online courses? Has she taken any CC courses, this can defintely get her feet wet and could possibly help with her career choice. I plan on doing the same thing, I am good with numbers (not anything like algebra, but arthimetic and statistics) but I prefer History, and that doesn't leave me with a lot of options. History is my passion, but I know it may not get me a good job. Accounting I like, but it wouldn't be my first choice. So I have devised a plan that will require me to take CC courses in Accounting and History and see which one I may prefer. Who knows? Maybe both? But I'd advise your daughter to take some CC courses in her preferred field of study, and maybe shadow a company that has all that she might want? HTH, and good luck!:)
  20. I have a friends who has tried Atkins, South Beach Diet, Special K, and Gluten Free. While she did lose the weight, she could never maintain it and always gained it back, and then some. I felt terrible for her, until a few months ago, she discovered this http://www.nosdiet.com/ and she has lost 25 lbs, and is still losing the weight. She looks great, and she does not work out (she hates working out) and she has a low metabolism making it hard for her to lose weight. I have adopted a few of the methods as well and my weight dropped as well. She highly reccommends the lifestyle change as she calls it. That's my $0.02.:D ADD: My friend tried this one as well, and she did not lose any weight, in fact she gained it all back. The No S Diet was the only thing that has allowed her to lose weight, and she doesn't even work out!!!!
