I am really struggling with reviews about MUS.
1. I read some say that with each year's focus on a separate topic there is not enough review with previous skills. But, in the sample videos it looks like there is still +, -, x, & dividing review in what they are learning in fractions, as well as money, clocks, measurements, etc.
Is there more to it than what the scope and sequence looks like?
2. We did MUS Primer and most of Alpha and last year switched to CLE. CLE is going well, but I think the foundation from MUS helped tremendously. I am beginning to wonder about a post I read about how spiral doesn't make them 'master' anything. It probably depends on the student???
3. Also, I was planning on going into Saxon after CLE for younger years, but does Saxon teach the 'why' like MUS? Some of my older dc did Saxon, but not past Alg. 2. It was so long ago, I don't remember it much and I don't think my dc grasped a lot doing it.
