  1. Help! I bought a this used curriculum off Ebay and when it arrived, only 3 of the schedule weeks have notes with them. I was under the impression that all of the weeks have notes along with the History and Read Aloud guides. I couldn't find any info on SL forum so I'm hoping someone who uses this curriculum right now might help. I have contacted the seller but I have yet to wait for the reply. TIA! Lulu
  2. I found this one online. I will be using and tweaking it as a syllabus for my 11th grader and probably contact the professor to ask for help. http://nagrait.tripod.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/his141_syllabus_sp10.htm
  3. By any chance, have you uploaded or blogged these plans already? I would love to "borrow" your ideas for our school year. :001_smile: TIA.
  4. Has anyone taken these? I am curious to find out if it is worth the $167 for one class. I was thinking of enrolling my son it. Any input would be greatly appreciated. :)
  5. :iagree:Plus it's one less thing the Nargles will steal from you. :) You can listen to it anywhere.
  6. I found a lesson plan/schedule online in one of blogs through this forum and we loosely follow that. It is a 2 day a week schedule and it works for us. I don't do the supplemental reading unless the 7 y/o is interested. He isn't the coloring-arts-and-crafts kind either so I skip that too. He is able to answer the comprehension questions and once in a while would come to me and say, "Mommy, did you know that King Narmer so and so..." or "Oh, so Mommy, is that why they call it Nile Delta...". That tells me he is interested enough to keep it going. :) As for the local library in this new place you are moving to, do they have an online catalog? We move a lot (military) so I would use the online catalog of wherever middle of nowhere-ville we will be sent to to check if they have what I needed. I buy the rest online (used). HTH.
  7. Kudos to you. Had I been pregnant and heard this lady's explanation, I think I would have given birth out of anger already.
  8. Also had a new baby 6 months ago and homeschooling the 17, 7 and 5 y/o. I run with the dog or sometimes with the baby in the jogger. Although I do prefer running with the dog since she doesn't talk. LOL. I also found a couple of good deals for kickboxing classes on LivingSocial.com here in the local area. I used to do volunteer at the naval hospital when we were stationed overseas and I will be starting that soon too. You know how it is, you love your kids but sometimes, it's nice to have quiet. :)
  9. I copy them. My DS6 writes too sloppy so I make him repeat it until it is neater. DD4 will just do the whole workbook in one sitting...and have therefore (sometimes) missed the point of the exercise. In this house, having LOTS of copies helps. I was able to find a $20 laser copier/printer/scanner that came with 2 barrels of ink/toner from Craigslist/Bookoo. It wouldn't work on the seller's Mac but it works perfect for us. :)
  10. It may be that they don't have a standard way of doing this yet (i.e. do we give access to homeschoolers or not, for a fee or not, etc.) and that every rep encountered gives a different answer. Recently, I noticed that the access given to me had been restricted to only the ELT book and even though I can see the other Norton books out there on the page, I have "no permission" to check those out. Does the $20 fee allow you access to everything or just for that book?
  11. Has anyone purchased this from RR and used it? If so, how was it? Is it worth it or just use Barron's + the Annotated Mona Lisa?
  12. Try this link: http://lps.lexingtonma.org/Page/1354 Each level will have a corresponding "year" with the exams. I think Level 1 2004 has the answer key; 2008 for Level 2. :) HTH, Lulu
  13. I was wondering if you still have that list and if I could please have a copy of it? :) Doing Ancients with both 1st grader and 11th grader. My email is lulu.schuck AT gmail dot com. Thanks in advance.
  14. Were you able to contact Norton about this? Let me know what stuff you are looking for. I may be able to help if I have the info. :)
  15. Were you able to contact Norton about this? Let me know what stuff you are looking for. I may be able to help if I have the info. :)
  16. Hi. I also have BFSU but I was looking at RS4K to use for my 1st grader this year. Can you tell me how you incorporate those 2 together? How often do you do Science and how long does it take you to prep for it? Thanks, Lulu
  17. Hello all. I've been getting several emails about this and I just wanted to post that I do not have any control over what Norton does or does not do. Please don't send me rude emails because I was able to get access to the library (for free) and you did or could not. I have posted all the info that I could on this and don't really mind answering questions about it. But I am not Norton and I don't know what their policy is on who gets to have access or not. :)
  18. If I remember correctly, I think I used my school (I am taking college classes) from the list. I used my .edu email address to contact them and explained what I needed and such. If all else fails, I think you can contact Norton directly or their customer service: http://books.wwnorton.com/books/aboutcontent.aspx?id=4610 HTH. Good luck.
  19. For the book itself it was answers to the exercises as well as online exercises from the textbook in pdf format. I print out the pages and that's what DD answers. I also have copies stored on my Ipad so I can check her answers when we are on the go. You can also access other Norton books in all subjects since they gave me access to the Norton Resource Library. I am not sure if having a .edu email address helped but that is what I used to correspond with them. HTH.
  20. Go here: http://books.wwnorton.com/books/978-0-393-92837-2/ Then on the lower left corner under "Instructor" click on the link for "Contact Your Instructor" and fill out the form and wait for a reply. I told them I was a homeschooling mom and we are using this book for our English curriculum..blah..blah. It took a while for them to reply, I was then given a link to establish an account (instructor) which gave me access to the files and then some. It has a lot of other useful files in there for instructors. If I remember correctly, I think you can even access some other Norton books. HTH. Lulu
