  1. Mine feels the same & wants to bring nail polish :/
  2. When you receive an invitation to a child's birthday party that states "Your presence is your gift", do you honor the request? My DD7 received an invitation like this for a birthday party tonight. My inclination is to bring a small gift anyway, and I know two other families who will be, but I don't want to be insulting (either way). WWYD?
  3. I'm just ready for the craziness to end......
  4. One vehicle toast, bills that inadvertantly didn't get paid, and an auto insurance fiasco related to a VERY minor incident that occurred. Nothing else can go wrong, right?? RIGHT???
  5. I'm so pleased to see so many giving those on food stamps the benefit of the doubt. We, unfortunately, are in that yucky spot between being able to afford our groceries and qualifiying for benefits. That being said, when we DID qualify a few years ago due to DH's unemployment, we certainly weren't abusing the system. I think we are more the norm than the exception.
  6. I have a friend whose 5yr old's name is Harper Luella :) She also named her photography business with Luella in it.
  7. I'm almost positive they are rebound headaches from the Zofran. I'm going to try going without when I hit 14wk (this weekend) and hopefully the nausea has subsided so I can get rid of the headaches too!
  8. Aww!! Thanks!! I'm going to try to hang around a little more......I've missed you all :)
  9. Me too!! I was PETRIFIED of what was to come when I first found out, but with early treatment via Prilosec and Zofran, I seemed to have kept things to a manageable level. Now, if the nausea would just let up so that I can lay off the Zofran and avoid these horrid headaches, I'd be in good shape.
  10. DH was never really fully on board with #4, so this was a MAJOR shock. I still have days where I mourn the loss of what I thought the next few years of my life would hold. I'm also terrified to have 2 so close together while schooling two little ones (K & 2nd) at the same time for the first time, but I guess you just figure it out because you have to, right??
  11. Thanks everybody! It's been a process warming up to the idea when we were so sure we were done!
  12. No, but in his defense, I don't have a very good relationship with my dad, so it would've been kind of odd if he had.
  13. I didn't read all of the responses, but I made my own programs and had them printed at the local print shop on some nicer paper that I purchased. I also made my own invitations. I did fake flowers and made my own arrangements. We also did all the decorating at the reception ourselves. We used borrowed and recycled items as much as possible.
  14. I hopped over to check a PM and thought I'd check in since it's been awhile :) We've had some sore throat, high fever inducing mutant virus passing through the last 10 days or so, so that's been fun. Kid #3 is just starting to bounce back. Thankfully, DH, the teen, and myself have been spared so far! We're also having some freakish weather with highs in the 60's the last few days. Feels like October. So weird. Oh, and......we're expecting #5. *faint* THAT was unexpected to say the least. I'm 13wk 3d and finally starting to get used to the idea, I think. Thankfully, the HG did not make a repeat appearance and I've been getting by okay with daily Zofran, though it does cause killer headaches every day around 3-4pm. So....what's new with you?? :)
  15. Oops...posted in the wrong spot!
  16. DH has a job he'd like to apply for and it would really be a good move for him (aka....really don't want to screw this one up :) ). Seems, lately, that something has been holding him back, so I'd love it if somebody could take a few minutes and review his cover letter and/or resume for me/him and make sure that THAT isn't what it is. THANK YOU!
  17. My heart aches for you dear Rosie. Love & hugs!
  18. I'm not sure how the district handles this type of situation, but given that my issues with the district are what spawned our homeschooling journey in the first place, I'm not concerned that she will be entering into PS full time at all. :) It is not an option for us. This was incredibly helpful, thank you!
  19. So, in terms of AP classes.....is there ever a point where they are simply a good to take (assuming she can get a good grade) because they look good on a transcript? Or help with getting scholarships?
  20. Yeah.....I'm good according to this: https://www.homeschooliowa.org/faq/dualenrollment.html
