    Man or bear?

I would take the bear. Most men might be fine, I have encountered one that had malicious intent. It only takes one time. In general I don't have problems with random men. I have encountered random men late at night on public transit. Never a problem. In fact they are often fully aware and will call ahead where they are going if they are passing. "Going to the bus stop" "going to the bike share" and they speed up to walk past so that they don't guve the impression of following. And still, it only took that one man for me to not be willing to take the risk.

    Man or bear?

Aside, we place the recycling The houseless can turn in for money separately. It makes it easier for them and there is less risk of a mess being made while they dig. We don't have bears, lots of houseless though.
  3. The smokers I know tend to be either older than 65 or younger than 30. I don't know any smoker in-between those ages.
  4. As someone who struggles with colors and has colors that will trigger a migraine and make me sick, I get it. I am always up for talking about color as long as the discussion will not lead to me painting walls. On your calm colors I really like the two with the yellow stars. Maybe because they are a bit darker? I am not really sure. I numbered some of the colors that to me look very very similar. What makes the anxious ones different than the calm ones? I put an X over the colors that are most likely to make me sick to give you and idea of my color triggers.
  5. The type of trailer I am talking about would be possible to parallel park. I called it a hitch trailer because that is what I have always called a similar trailer that a family member has to distinguish from their other trailers. I grabbed this image of an open bike trailer that attaches how I am referring to. These are pretty popular here, lots of people have grills/smokers here attached like this. Great for picnics at the park.
  6. Is an enclosed hitch trailer not an option? It seems like that would open up more options. I don't know if enclosed hitch trailers are a thing sold retail, or if it is a custom thing, an adultling made one for a client.
  7. Here is my take: I am an adult. I have a job. I pay my taxes. Life is too short. I use a rainbow dragon shower curtain for my curtains. I have regular curtains on the window side for light blocking and to protect my dragon's colors. They are of course different color curtains. I am finally turning an adultlings old room into a guest room and am looking at a galaxy duvet and a tie dye duvet. I am torn, I want both. The sheets will, of course, be bright colors that match. I am also anti-white walls, but that is only after being a parent and scrubbing finger and foot prints off of walls and ceilings. Yes, footprints on the ceiling. No, I didn't ask. My very formal southern aunt is of the view that all morally upstanding white people must follow HGTV trends. Do you have any idea how much fun it is to have her visit?
  8. I am seeing this in young adults I know as well as in online groups. Smoking cigarettes seems to be becoming more popular. From young adults wanting their wedding pictures to include them smoking, to so many young adults smoking. With all that is known, I just do not get it.
  9. They aren't hard to build so this is my new suggestion. A secret space behind cookbooks.
  10. I vote putting a cat bed up there. You may need to get a cat if you don't already have one.
  11. Yes, I have to follow specific dietary restrictions for 4-5 days before hand, but that is because I have health issues that require it.
  12. Yes. I went down earlier this week. It took everything I had to call my husband and ask him to come home after lunch. I was fine the next day. Last night my husband was making dinner when it hit. He went to bed early, called off of work today, and had a virtual appointment. I took him to test for RSV, covid, and flu A and B. All negative. He spent the rest of the day in bed. I am not sure he will go to work tomorrow.

    A Vent: No Wind

Plot twist: I showed my husband my drawing and mentioned that I couldn't figure out how it is still there. Turns out he has been putting bricks/small rocks in front of the wheels. In my disgust at the item I didn't pay attention. I had been working under the assumption that he heard my plotting and understood that it wasn't a harmless rant, but an actual plot to rid the world of the thing. The marriage survived. I will be paying closer attention to it and the weather in the future to ensure that it is not obstructed when it is windy. I will be texting the offspring and making sure they know no one is to mess with the thing, including cleaning and helping keep it safe. This will probably be interpreted as "protect the thing at all costs" because that is how things seem to work here.

    A Vent: No Wind

Ok so I spent time this evening working on a sketch of the item (the brown thing) and where I have put it in an attempt to catch maximum wind. Yes, I added wheels. I was not accepted to art school.

I will attempt a sketch later
  16. Soo someone bought something that goes outside. Its so ugly I tried to get a picture but my camera broke. I grimaced and placed it outside in an area that is windy and blows everything I want to keep off our property, through the neighborhood, out to the highway and a few states away. Yesterday, for example, I spent more time than I care to admit chasing a wanted item down that wasn't directly in that area and still got caught up. I am beyond frustrated that this thing hasn't moved even an inch and I miss the days before cameras everywhere, I would play the part of the wind and help it along, with a baseball bat, or an ax I reclaimed from a teen bedroom.
  17. This is everyone here. We prefer backpacks. I am not sure we have any suitcases to compare with though.
  18. They never wanted him in the trailer on the property or currently don't want him in the trailer on the property. I am trying to understand the timeline better, thanks
  19. It is baffling that they would expect someone to live without running water and sewage.
  20. Ok I find this baffling. What do I believe would work? Well, I think we need a time machine to go back in time at least 30 years, then we get there we need a miracle to get funding for quality programs for autistic adults that ensure no waiting lists. Then we need another miracle for funding for treatment programs specifically for autistic adults with addiction. These need to be followed carefully and there needs to be ongoing studies for what works and what doesn't. We need to fund practical research that helps adults. Once we have gone back and ensured those things are done we would be able to pull from 30 years of data and would be in a better place to know what helps long-term and what doesn't.
  21. I am baffled that the other residents are angry that someone living there without running water or sewage would need to access running water and sewage and is doing so. As above it sounds like he is a tenant and has rights. I would think that access to running water is a right.
  22. Addiction isn't a choice. Autism isn't a choice. Services for addiction for those who don't have means are generally not the best. Services for adults with autism generally suck. Finding an addiction treatment that can meet the needs of an autistic is like finding a unicorn. I gave a lot of suggestions in the previous thread. Complaining and demanding he change without supports will not work. An ultimatum will not work. If they want to help him then they need to all be on the phone calling every local and state resource. They need to help him and make those phone calls, fill out paperwork, help him schedule and get to appointments. If they have not spent as much time calling places that could provide him help as they have calling people to gossip then they do not care about him and his well being. I will forever stand by that. He needs help. The help he needs is something that will take a lot of work by multiple people to get. They sound like a bunch of gossiping old women who care about only themselves and think that disabilities are choices. I am so glad that I am not related to them. I hope that when disability strikes them that they are met with more.compassion and tangible help than they are willing to provide.
  23. Look for model train clubs. They work at a specific scale so you will want to find the one that is closest to your scale. While they may have a bit more emphasis on the trains, the terrain, buildings, and all the other details play a huge part.
  24. I have moved so much dirt. I am not sure if the planters will ever be filled.
