  1. Well, if we would have gotten the 5-7in. they predicted, it would have kept my dd from spending the night at her df's who lives 30min. away. But, we didn't. We did get some ice, but dh says main roads are still okay, so she can go. She is happy!:)
  2. I would agree that age 9 is pretty common. Mydd is almost 12 and has not began her period, but she is in full blown moodiness. KWIM? I know of girls who have started their periods at age 9.
  3. I agree that if the jeep is paid off, keep it unless it uses lots of gas. If it isn't paid off then of course sell it and get something else. Are jeeps really that roomy? They don't look like they'd have anymore room than a car.
  4. I love her since of adventure, although it gets her (and me) in trouble sometimes, life would be boring without it.
  5. His friends were always after him to "come back to school". He finally did it... for a semester. Then he came back home and never wanted to leave again. He has gone on to college with a full scholarship and has graduated with honors. It is worth it!:D
  6. I cut my dh's hair and my ds's until he got married and now his wife cuts it. However, today I am getting my hair cut and taking my dd to get her's cut, too. Usually I cut hers straight across the back.
  7. We are expecting 3-6inches here tonight and tomorrow. They are calling for 6-8in. north of us. I'm hoping we get at least the 6, but usually we get less. (I thought I needed the sunglasses, cause we all know how blinding the snow can be). Take it easy and enjoy your day.
  8. Happy, happy, happy, birthdayyyy...to you, to you, to you!:D
  9. Check out Horizons math by Alpha Omega. It has the same concept as Saxon, but less teacher intensive imho. It is also very colorful.:)
  10. Chocolate, diet sodas, and yes orange juice. Also, hormones play a big part in my headaches. Cutting these things out and excercising regularly has helped me.
  11. Mine came in early 20's. I've never had them removed, but they are starting to cause me some problems. I've heard it is worse to have them out when your older. I'm 45.:(
  12. Homemade pizza, artichoke-spinach dip with veggies, and maybe some hot wings.
  13. We get up anywhere between 6 am and 8 am to start school at 8:30 a.m. If we get up earlier, we get more chores done before school and maybe instead of cereal we actually cook breakfast. When the weather is nice, we can take a walk before school. But, we are dressed and ready to begin at 8:30 no matter what (unless something else comes up).:D
  14. Okay, here it goes. I have 3 dc, 2 have graduated, and I am still homeschooling my 11yodd. I am electic in my choices using Saxon Math, Abeka language, and Apologia Science. We belong to a small homeschool group, but enjoy it. Oh, We live in rural Indiana.
  15. Sounds wonderful! I'm in southern Indiana and have been so disappointed because we haven't has any real snowdays yet. A little here and there, but I'd like one BIG snow before the season ends. Have a wonderful day!:)
  16. Obviously I am faithful to one when I find "THE ONE". Hope I find her/him soon.
  17. where you are coming from. We've BTDT and are still there doing that! I have found that soups are a great way of stretching the budget. I can a big pot of soup and usually stretch it for 3 meals. If you don't want to eat the same soup for three meals (most people don't) you can freeze it and it will be there ready to go when you need it the next week. HTH.
  18. who just spent all day Thurs. at the hospital. Her ds fell on his sister and broker her arm, then later that evening he slipped on the ice and broke his collar bone!
  19. It has given me some information for ds. He is not sure what he is going to do. He has a degree in "Business with a concentration in criminology" He really wanted to get into law enforcement, but his wife has been very much against that. Thanks again for your help.:)
