  1. You can only access the past recipes with an annual plan? I missed this small detail. Do they continually have tofu in at least two meals per week? Seems there is lots of subbing going on here because I'm trying not to each so much of it.
  2. The plan is to have stools under it. Will it be awkward for me or the children to lean over the table and write on it? One child is preteen the other preschool. Very different body sizes. table is very narrow but it is still a table and sticks out a small distance http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50121453/#/50103604 If you don't have a stool/table under yours do you/children just stand and write? Not that that is a problem, just trying to think before DH puts more holes in the walls.
  3. Decorating my home office and I would love it to look very special. I've tried looking on Amazon but I'm not having much luck finding cheaper alternatives. http://www.container...0029378&N=74528
  4. The food processor is not the same thing as the slicer shredder. And my blender was not able to handle frozen fruit smoothies with kale. Died once I started added anything green. I personally think it was expensive to replace. Because we don't eat much bread anymore, it sits in the closet but I totally love it in spit of the above. There is nothing like it for making 6 loaves of big fat bread dough. It is a counter hog and it is heavy. If you're storing it, know you'll be lugging that thing in and out of its place. If it stays on the counter, be sure you have plenty of room for it. Not quite as big as a microwave but definitely bigger than a toaster! HTH
  5. I plan on using it mostly for educational purposes for the children. I may use it occasionally when I need a larger screen view than my Razr. I am old school. LOVE my desktop. Love the feel of the keyboard, etc. The kids are NOT old school and would be excited about technology opportunities in their school day. The Ipad sure seems like it would be fun in that aspect, and intuitive. Intuitive is important to me right now.
  6. Now I'm wondering if this was a bad idea. Haven't opened it yet and am curious which you all think is better. Definitely looking to use it for school. Kids ages range from 4 to 14.

Sorry, can't help. When I make chicken pot pie, it's the real deal because I've not found anything! we love as much veganized. This is in my plantoeat queue though. Might be something you can work with at least? Hope you feel better. I had the flu from Dec 22 to Jan 7 :( http://www.seriousea...xcerpt_readmore and if that is too involved, we ate this for lunch. It is insanely easy and absolutely delicious! lentil and potato soup 1 Tablespoon olive oil ½ medium yellow onion, cut into small dice 2 medium carrots, cut into small dice 2 celery stalks, cut into small dice 1 cup split peas, cleaned and picked through to check for dirt (I used lentils) 1 -8 ounce russet potato, peeled and cut into large dice 4 cups of low sodium vegetable broth 2 cups water 1 clove of garlic, minced or pressed 1 teaspoon Herbes de Provence 1 teaspoon kosher salt ¼ teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon white wine vinegar 1. Heat a medium soup pot over medium heat and add oil. Once the oil is hot add in the onions, carrots, and celery. Sweat the vegetables for 3 minutes or until the onions are soft and translucent. 2. Add in the cleaned split peas, potato, broth, water, garlic, Herbes, salt & pepper, and vinegar. Cover, bring to a boil, and then reduce to a high simmer. Cook for 30 minutes.
  9. Can we talk about the inventory sheets these organizers always suggest... I mean we use one can of tomatoes and the whole page is shot :) WHO keeps up with a pantry inventory checklist? Really, WHO?
  10. http://plantoeat.com/recipes/792094 easy easy easy but just a basic veggie soup - really easy using frozen leeks http://plantoeat.com/recipes/385248 This one has excellent flavor and is very hearty. Everyone who has had it has asked for the recipe. We love it.
  11. The pantry feature is just that, a feature. It's not key to generating a shopping list, in my experience. I personally don't use the pantry feature. I simply use the planner and only plan one week of meals at a time. I generate a shopping list and delete the items I already have (in my pantry). Print that list (or use the app). Shop. Cook (that's where my plan breaks down to be honest). :hurray: PTE has a great mobile app so you can see that grocery list, divided by categories from anywhere! Pure AWEsomeness That's my way of maximizing the program, anyway. I also reuse meal plans for the week if they've worked out. I know there is a feature to plan days at a time and name them for the purpose of reusing them. I don't use that feature. I usually add recipes to the queue and pull them from there. I love the feature of the queue that crosses out stuff once it is planned in your rotation. If I want to reuse a meal plan I simply drag the recipes on the calendar to where I want to use them again. This does change the original plan but I'm not about the past, I'm working on the future. HTH P.S. Beware of adding in so many recipes that you're overwhelmed when it comes time to plan. Trying new recipes is expensive and time consuming. I have that in real life when I look at cookbooks. I want PTE to be my tool for getting actual meals on the table each and every night. That's the personal goal for which I purchased it, not a gadget to hold all the neat looking recipes I come across. That's just me though. Again, hope this helps. P.P.S. To a new user who has read this far, to combat the above situation, I have created a To Try category and am working on moving stuff "to try" in there.
  12. http://www.samsclub....sku=sku8714073S I really love mine. The handle at the top gets super hot so I wrote "Hot" on it to remind me it is not treated. Other than that it is my favorite piece of cookware. I make things just so I can use a wooden spoon and move stuff around in it. Did I say I love it?
  13. I am challenged to do so. I must say though, I sure could use some inspiration.
  14. I've read both...include married kids on your card - they haven't dropped off earth and they're your kids :) Don't include married kids. They're on their own and would appreciate their own card. What say you?
  15. If my dd were to use it for emergency purposes only could I give her my old one without subscribed coverage?
  16. How about just reading the bible with them? I cannot tell you how many adults I know have NEVER read the bible all the way from Genesis to Revelation. Reading out loud to them every day will teach all of you at once and you will be amazed how much great discussion comes from that. Set a timer, read for that amount of time and call it great. What do you think? I personally have found lots of programs, worksheets, maps, discussion questions, etc. kills the joy and simplicity of hearing the word every day. What a gift you're giving them. I wish I'd done it when they were smaller instead of all those gimmicky programish things that I had to spend money on.
  17. If you're talking English I'm getting ready to post a bunch for a friend on the For Sale boards. Saxon math too :) Putting the list together, but if you want something specific, feel free to pm me.
  18. I have made Quiver's rolls for YEARS now. They are HUGE. Here is my yeast http://www.everythingkitchens.com/saf-yeast-1-lb-pound-802020.html?gclid=CJ_vt87ozrMCFREx4AodUwoApA and I use white flour. AND real butter. I don't refrig. first. Hmmm.
  19. We love Memoria Press Kindergarten because of this. The teacher's manual is easy enough to sub math, phonics, etc. I have seen here many buy the guide just for a few elements of it, it's that good! It includes opening recitations where they learn to skip count, name seven continents, days of week, how many seconds in a minute, long vowel sounds, etc. I love their memory verses for bible, very simple and in order of their bible readings, which we enjoy as well. The teacher's guide also has music and art selections each week as well as a read aloud book list that is very sweet and gentle. LOVE MP K!!!
  20. I'm intending to purchase from both and am terrible at finding working codes. Thanks for helping.
  21. I'm finding this a challenge. Seems there are kids everywhere when we sit down to really discuss schoolwork. Maybe we should plan a work session out of the house - like somewhere with goodies and hot coffee!
  22. Helena, Wanted to thank you for all your great recipes you have generously typed out for me! We are loving this with Sam's $2.99 huge bag of Multi Grain Tortilla Chips. YUM!!! Enjoy. ps double it! http://weelicious.com/2010/02/18/black-bean-hummus/
