  1. Lots of excitement over here! My middle son won "The World's Largest Stocking" at our dentist office. Six ft tall stocking filled with toys.

I told him we were could call Santa and tell him that he doesn't need anything this year. ;-)

  2. Here's the link to my Christmas Morn Casserole. We love it! I got the recipe from my Aunt who got it out of a church cookbook.
  3. Tried to send you a PM, but it wouldn't let me. Let me know if you need a family law attorney in Greenville. I can recommend a couple.
  4. :iagree: My brother was an out-of-wedlock father in SC. I'll try to ask him or my mom about the birth certificate. I remember there being some hoops he had to jump through to be on the birth certificate since they weren't married.
  5. I'm crocheting a chain mail tunic for one of my boys for Christmas. I'm mashing together several patterns that I found on-line.
  6. I'm sorry you have so many friends fighting that awful disease.
  7. I've read it several times today and cried every time.
  8. This is my friend Kara. She is battling breast cancer and has been keeping a blog of her journey. She's a wonderful writer so many of her posts are worth reading, but today's post about her husband is especially poignant. She's a Christian and writes from that perspective, but I think even non-Christians will be touched by her husbands love for her. I hope someone else is blessed by her words. http://mundanefaithfulness.com/2012/12/07/true-love/
  9. Thank you. Copy/paste worked. I can tell that there is a video embedded in the OP because there is a lot of white space below the main text, but that is all it is--white space. Dancer, congratulations! You must be so proud.
  10. I still don't see the link/video/sound file. Why can everyone else see them and not me? I even turned off my fire-wall for a few minutes to see if that was the problem.
  11. I'm going to do six white Fiestaware place settings and six different colors. There are five of us, so I'm going to let each person choose the color they want (I get to choose two :D). Now we have the best of both worlds and I can always add more white as I go along. Follow up question: I can get a four piece place setting on sale at Belk for $23+tax, but the sale ends tomorrow. Is this a really good price and I should go take advantage of it tomorrow? or does this type of sale come around frequently?
  12. We don't decorate until well into December. Some years we get the tree up around the middle of the month, but don't get everything else out until Christmas Eve. We leave it up until after Jan 6th.
  13. What is the big green box with a number in it on our profile pages mean? Mine has "163 excellent." I've seen others with lower numbers that say "good."
  14. Poorly timed but absolutely necessary schoolroom remodel almost done. Can't wait to get back in there and back to our regular routine.

  15. I was just reading about this and there are several people in the blogosphere that say Bar Keeper's Friend will get those marks off.
  16. Uggg. All you ladies who kept mentioning Fiestaware made me go look at it and now I want that instead of white. I love the bright colors! My kitchen is red, my dining / living room is yellow and my newly painted schoolroom is very close to Fiestaware peacock. Resist, Robin, resist. :)
  17. Well, I just spent an hour looking at white dishes on Pinterest and ebay, and I think I'm going to do it. I have so much color on my walls, that I think the white dishes will be just what I need.
  18. I need new every day dishes. My sister-in-law is trying to talk me into getting all white. Her reasoning is that I can mix and match serving pieces, dress it up or down depending on the centerpiece. I get her reasons, but it just seems like it could get boring. What says the hive? Are white dishes a good option?
  19. I've been there and have everything set to notify me, but I'm still only getting notifications when someone quotes me or likes my post. Last week I was getting notifications when someone replied to a topic I replied to (like subscriptions did on the old board.) I think "my content" is what you have posted, and "content I follow" is like subscriptions from the old board. ETA: I think I've found the problem. "Auto follow topics I reply to" was set to offline. I was messing around the other day and didn't realize I had to scroll to the bottom of the page and save my changes. I've set it back to "Immediate." Hopefully that fixes it.
  20. True, but I was offering a suggestion if you were set on keeping those names. I do agree that "Struggling Learners" is off-putting. I'm tired and fresh out of better suggestions though. :)
