  1. I am thinking about reading at least most of these books.... the ones that my library has that are at least 4th grade level.
  2. :( It will let me pull up the website, but I can't add to the cart or do anything else. Oh well ... SIGH. :(
  3. How long did it take to get your order? Would it be better to order from them than Rainbow Resource?
  4. Is anybody using this? What age/grade(s) are you using it with? What branch of study is it considered? (Language Arts?)
  5. I am trying to decide if I will use that as well (to help educate myself) or use ACE. I can't decide.
  6. I just finished A Wrinkle in Time and Silver Dollar Girl. I am almost through with Winnie-the-Pooh and will probably move on to either Heidi or Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. My 19 year old daughter (Rebekah), who also has a list, is reading Jane Eyre, Wolves at Our Door, Wolf Captured, Nobody's Princess, Moon Riders, and Bitter Trail. Moon Riders and Bitter Trail are westerns by Elmer Kelton.
  7. how I am going to make this work with my dress code at work (especially since I would rather wear dresses or jumpers than skirts). We are required to wear a navy blue top and khaki colored bottoms. Can I quit my job yet? LOL
  8. I guess these are the main reasons I feel drawn to wear dresses instead of pants.
  9. Basically I guess I wanted to know that I am not the only one who feels this is appropriate. Also, I am trying to figure out reasonable priced places to purchase dresses since finding them in a regular store is almost impossible these days. I also haven't figured out how to make it work with my "Wal-Mart dress code" I am required to wear to work every day. I am not much of a skirt kind of person (makes me look dumpy I think) so I am mainly thinking either jumpers or dresses.
  10. She has chosen this path. Her mother seems fairly supportive, but her sister and other family members all think she is pretty much out of her mind. I also try to be supportive.
  11. and she was truly my friend (not just someone I encountered who was asking questions) who said she didn't understand why I homeschooled my daughter. I find it interesting however though that she has homeschooled her children for about 5 years now herself when things when not-so-good at the public school her children were attending.
  12. If I had a husband I don't know what he would think about it. I've been single for over 4 years now and am not even dating anyone. It's just me and my 19 year old daughter who is ok with me doing whatever I want (as long as I don't make her do it too LOL).
  13. "How long do you need to keep certain papers ... It depends on how recently they let you out of a certain place." They just let me out last week, but I'm ok now. I promise! :D Now, where did I put that fire extinguisher! Watch out for those flames, Dear. They are getting pretty high now. :D
  14. I was actually thinking of wanting to do this myself ... I would never do this to my child. She has legible handwriting, but I don't expect it to be perfect. I've never even heard of someone getting marked down for not prefect handwriting. Sheesh!
  15. I have been considering this option in lifestyle for quite some time and am feeling possibly drawn to this again.
  16. like phone bills, bank records, and such? I am trying to get rid of as much "stuff" as I can, but don't want to throw away things I shouldn't.
  17. and yes, I have an older child (and was thinking about using it for myself as well). I found it when searching Christian Book Distributors.
  18. The authors of the Ancient Roman World are Ronald Mellor and Marni McGee and they are published by Oxford University Press. The authors of the Ancient Greek World are Jennifer Roberts and Tracy Barrett. Maybe I can use these in conjuction with something else? I find the books very interesting and easy enough for even me to read.
  19. every time they write something? It doesn't matter if they are writing a check, a letter to Great Aunt Tessie, or just making their grocery list for the week... and it is always nice and neat. Even my nephew's handwriting is like this (it has been since he was about 7 ot 8). How do you get that kind of handwriting? I'd sure like to be able to do that.
