  1. :iagree: Dc like it but I would go even without the dc yes the food is overpriced but your not really paying for the food, your paying for the atmosphere/experience. :001_smile:
  2. We did it early this year and my ds really seemed to enjoy it, especially extracting his own dna.:001_smile: And if you have a Hobby Lobby close they have them half off pretty often.
  3. The Nova shows with Neil deGrasse Tyson. He even got my documentary hating ds too enjoy documentaries. We love his stuff:001_smile:, especially the one on Pluto:D
  4. I asked for advice on SLR on here a few months ago. Thanks to the great help and pointing me to a forum on cameras ended up with Pentax K-x and so far we love it:001_smile: http://www.amazon.com/Pentax-K-x-2-7-inch-18-55mm-Black/dp/B002OEBTC8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1305524078&sr=8-2
  5. How indepth is this? Would you say this is good for child that likes science? Does it have many experiments? The textbook samples look so I don't know weak:confused:, am I seeing it correctly? When they discuss topics for example forces/motion do they discuss and talk about Newton and go over laws of motion? Thanks:001_smile:
  6. Thanks guys for all the ideas.:D Any others?:001_smile:
  7. Lol thanks but my husband actually brought me home some. Hmm what does it mean when your dh sees owl pellets and thinks of you?:D
  8. Hi. I need some ideas for some experiments to do with 10 yr olds. The more wow factor the better. Just things to get them to go oh, ah. You get the idea. Oh also got any experiments to use those large baby soda bottle test tubes? Thanks:001_smile:
  9. Okay we used Noeo for 1st-3rd then this year just sort of designed or own thing, it worked but I really like the structure I have with a schedule. What can anyone tell me about the level 2 Noeo? How about Singapore Science? Is it in depth, much hands on? Anything else you'd suggest? Looking to do physics next year if that helps. Thanks:001_smile:
  10. Ds loves them. I figure anytime he grabs a book off the shelf like that to read on his own time it's a success. I know there not the most difficult reads but for him to read it just because he wants to I'm all for it and then later on when we read the actual version he has a little background going in.:001_smile:
  11. Okay I need some suggestions of science experiments/demonstrations to wow some dc. I'm not really worried about going in depth to explain the concepts just need the ohh and ahh factor. Any ideas? Thanks:001_smile:
  12. We do Shurley English with ours which works great beacuse we do Latin For Children and they use the same abbreviations and things when discussing parts of speech.:001_smile:
