  1. :iagree:Dutch oven is the way to go. With one of those if you can cook it at home you can cook it camping. Also, one thing that is so nice to do, is pre chop everything you'd use before you go, and if your making any cakes, biscuits etc premix the dry ingredients and stick in bags so thats already done too.:001_smile:
  2. So we use Singapore for our main math, but one of the books we supplement with is Math Express Speed Maths Strategies(which I really do like). Well today my son comes up to me and says "I thought these books were for kids?" Here was his problem Mr Lee bought 23 cartons of beer. Each carton cost $27. How much did he pay altogether?:glare: :cheers2::lol:
  3. Has anybody watched Decling by Degrees? I thought it was really interesting in discussing what is/isn't really learned in higher education and what has come to be expected and turned out of college institutions.
  4. It's not really a trivia game but what about something like Perspective where you have to put the world events in order.:001_smile:
  5. Real Science 4 Kids after drooling over it for a few years waiting for ds to be old enough for it I couldn't believe how disappointing it was for us when it arrived:confused:

  8. For those that do the Earlybird do you get the textbook and activity book? The essentials is just 1 a and b book right?:001_smile:
  9. Thanks for that it was good to get a look at them side by side. I like the Essentials better it looks a little more focused on math not pictures kwim? The only thing that I like better about earlybird is dd loves to cut and paste.:001_smile:
  10. Blueberry pi, pizza pi.Sir Cumference books and activities with circles.:001_smile: I can't believe dh isn't dissappointed he'll be at work and miss all the fun.:lol:
  11. Thanks for the info. I wonder if we would just skip the A books and move on to B?
  12. So my dd wants her own math book for next year. I love Singapore for my ds we've done it since the beginning(1st grade), but we never used anything for kindergarten so could somebody tell me about Singapore's k math books. Which do you like better Essential, Earlybird US, Earlybird standards? Are they even worth it? Do they go in much more depth then the average complete kindergaten workbook? I couldn't really tell from the samples, it just looked like alot of the same old which is bigger, which is different type activities. Would we start with the A or B books? If it matter she will be turning 5. Thanks:001_smile:
  13. Hmm. I wonder which one I'll get first, hoping it's Japan I jsut checked out an armful of books, LOL:001_smile: The lady I talked to on the phone gave me a choice on which country to get first between Japan, Australia nd one other but I forget which.
