Janeway
The best thing about the eclipse...it doesn't have politics. The TV is on and no one is talking about hate or attacks or anything else like that. All these people gathering, no one hating over this. It seems politics have taken a break for a couple hours. Love it! Edited August 21, 2017 by Janeway

Guest
You obviously haven't been on Reddit or city data forums lately ;) Plenty of people are willing to trash talk instead of eclipse watch! We don't have a TV and I'll take your word on cable, but all my normal modes of entertainment are still clogged with mass hallucinating people. regentrude
It was great to see people everywhere gathering outside and making it little picnics and parties to celebrate an astronomical event!
PinkyandtheBrains.
Stay clear of the comments sections on the various live feeds. Politics, racism and much superstition.
G5052
Two: 1. We met our new neighbors. 2. They loaned us a pair of extra eclipse glasses!
6packofun
Our rental house is on the property of the landlord's business and another business he rents out to someone. Typically a very annoying setup. But today, the guy with the business that sort of butts into our yard came over with welding masks that were safe for solar viewing and let us use them! He tried our glasses and it was nice. :)
Peaceseeker
Well we were having a nice family moment viewing the eclipse and my father in law starts talking about North Korea. I was like, really? Right now? In the shadows? Sigh....
