Hilltopmom
Ds is taking Eng Comp 101, summer session started last week. Its DE for him. Assignment 1 is an essay based on a personal interview. Due Tuesday night. Ds is in a group of 3 (groups assigned by professor). Ds has been emailing & texting his group members to set up a time to interview each other since class finished on Thursday night (T/th night class). No response from either other person. Its now Sunday morning. Both people work during the day, but its a holiday weekend, of course. Ds is getting pissed that the interviews arent even done yet, nor a time even scheduled for them, because he wants to start writing his essay. They cant do phone or email interviews, must be in person. Im starting to get worried that maybe they both dropped the course but just aren't bothering to tell him that. Or, maybe they're just procrastinating slackers. Not sure what to advise him to do. If he doesn't get a response today to either meet today or Monday, then hes out of luck for getting the interview done & essay written. At what point should he email his professor & give her a heads up & ask what to do? He could easily interview anyone else not from his class today or tomorrow, if she would allow that. Seems like he should see if he gets a response today from them at least before contacting her? But I don't want him to wait too long... She doesnt seem flexible, from reading her syllabus (which I totally get, but if your group wont respond, what are you supposed to do? Its not the kind of group project you can just do yourself). He doesnt want to tattle on them, but wants to get this done in time. Whatcha think? Thanks As an aside, this is his first group project in college experience plus in a class he was dreading taking & he is not impressed. EKS
I would contact the instructor sometime today. I hate group work because something like this always happens.

Hilltopmom
Well, he heard back from the girl he needs to interview, she wants to meet tomorrow night after 6. Ugh,nothing like last minute. He'll have to write it the day it's due which sucks. (Well, or later that night I guess) Hope that doesn't fall through. Still nada from the guy who is supposed to interview him. Stupid weekend for such assignment. Edited May 28, 2017 by Hilltopmom

SanDiegoMom
My daughter (at PS) was in a group of four kids and they were supposed to make a government themed board game. She was supposed to make the cards, another make the board, a third make the rules. Guess who did everything at the last minute because everyone else was suddenly busy? And then when she was turning it in (she was up much of the night so she just drove it in and dropped it off) a girl had the nerve to ask her to make up an answer key "real quick". She told her thanks but no thanks.
