Nature
Does anyone else here NOT like the new Bing search engine? It suddenly showed up on my toolbar and replaced my Google search engine. It just seems like the results are not even close to what Google offers. For example, I was trying to remember a book that I was looking at that was written in the 1900’s but couldn’t remember the title. So I searched for the topic and 1900’s. Bing found three results – on from scribd and the other sites were Japanese. Google, on the other hand, found over 300 results, with the book I was looking for as the first result. Granted, I do not need 300 results, but the first couple pages were all on my topic and the 1900’s whereas Bing didn’t find any books on my topic. There is a site in which you can compare Bing vs. Google side by side: http://www.bing-vs-google.com/

AFwife Claire
I can't stand it either. I found the same thing--the results simply weren't in the ballpark of what I was really looking for.
Barb_
You can get rid of it. Are you using Firefox or IE? Barb
Margo out of lurking
Hate Bing. And even if I liked it, I would hate it because it has such a stupid name.

ThatCyndiGirl
The funny thing is that they ARE exactly what their own commercials make fun of: a search engine that doesn't give you what you want/need and instead gives you random crap!

fhjmom
Can I recommend you try GoodSearch instead? I have always gotten reliable results (it's powered by Yahoo!) and every search will earn $$ for a charity of your choice. If you shop online, there is potential for even more donations just by doing what you would be doing any way - searching and shopping. BTW, if you don't see another organization on the list you feel strongly about supporting, you could add "Texas Hands & Voices" to your donation list. That's the group I GoodSearch for! :D (In the interest of full disclosure, I am on the board of directors for TX H&V but I would not personally benefit in any financial way from donations made through GoodSearch.) edithcrawley
Ooo, tell me. I'm using IE. On the top right corner, you'll see the Bing searchbar. Click on the little arrow on the far right and click on "Find more Providers". Scroll down til you find Google search and click on it. It'll ask you if you want it to be the default search. Click yes. Now you have Google :)
