Nestof3
Wow -- what a moving film. I would not recommend for young children. There is nothing inappropriate in it -- there's just a lot of stress/tension, implication of violence, grief, etc. But, it is amazing. dangermom
Have you ever read the book? It's an amazing book, was first published under the title North to Freedom.
Anne
:iagree: I haven't seen the movie, but I've always loved the book. Anne
ChrisN in NY
I'd forgotten about this movie, but have to agree with you. Very good movie. The ending caught me off guard. Our hs group has a potluck/movie night every couple months, and this was the movie we watched... last spring maybe. My ds was the youngest there; he must've been 8yo at the time. Annie Laurie
The book is great! I've never seen the movie but might have to.
Heidi @ Mt Hope
The book really made an impression on me when I read it years and years ago (when it was titled North to Freedom). I just re-read it recently and loved it again. The movie strays quite a bit from the book and misses some of my favorite aspects, but it is also really beautiful. Nestof3
Okay, lame me did not even know about the book. I honestly don't read much fiction. I do need a constant supply of movies to get through my bike ride, though. ;)
BikeBookBread
I loved the story...great movie. I haven't cried in a movie in a long time, and even my husband teared up while I blubbered.
