US History suggestions for 9th grade

What do people like for US History for a history liking high schooler? Non secular is preferred. But Christian perspective is fine as long as it isn't so heavily biased that I'd have to do major supplementing, if that makes sense.

I tried looking for a mega thread on it like there are for other subjects but can't seem to find one.

Thanks for any suggestions. I keep waffling on what to do

I like the K12 American Odyssey as a basic, inexpensive spine. Secular.

Woke Homeschooling has a highschool level American history, but it is two years. you could pick one though.

My 10th grader is using Oh Freedom from WH mentioned above and we're both really enjoying it. 🙂 He's only doing volume 2. It schedules spines like Zinn, Stamped from the Beginning, A Different Mirror, etc, has suggestions for loads of extra literature, includes extra links/videos, and the research and writing assignments have been fabulous. 

If you're looking for something more traditional American Yawp is really well done. You can buy the books or there's a website with the complete text available, along with free quizzes, essay starters, discussion questions, etc.

We use K12 American Odyssey and supplement with Great Courses The History of the United States and some lessons from the old CTC Critical Thinking in US History pdf's. I don't know if those are still available or not.
