I've discovered that (unflavoured) vodkas taste different, too. My favorite is Reyka (from Iceland) but they've been out of stock here for awhile and I was forced to branch out. My area has tons of local distilleries so I figured I'd go with a local variety, but unfortunately the one I picked up is virtually undrinkable. I've since found a substitute but have learned that for my tastes, potato vodka is NOT the way to go.

Yes to all the new flavors of liquor. We live in wine country and one of them has started making various liquors with the grapes.  It's fun to taste and experiment with all the new things.
