Audrey's 2nd grade year will be a hybrid of virtual public school (so they pay for extra curriculars) and homeschooling (so she actually learns something). It will also be a hybrid of 2nd and 3rd (and 4th) grade because she is very asynchronous.

ELA:
BookShark Level 3 ELA plus probably All About Spelling and Daily Grams

History:
BookShark B - First year of world history

Math:
Math U See Delta plus Mammoth 4

Science:
Classes at a nature center plus lots of reading and videos

Spanish:
Immersion Class which includes art, music and dancing

Memorization:
Anki

Music:
Piano using Playground Sessions

Gymnastics:
Joining her gym's artistic team, about 4 hours of training a week, plus competitions

Another elective...Pottery, Drumming, Horseback Riding?

Extras:
Fun group elective classes...this year they are doing Circus School, Art based on picture book illustrations, and nature/science/geography based on the Who Would Win? book series. I don't know what will be offered next year.

My rising 2nd grader is a strong student whose main struggle is speaking up. I wouldn't say he's slow at processing, but he wants to have everything completely straight in his mind before speaking and hates to be rushed. I think a lot of our curriculum choices will help him get practice with orally answering fairly simple questions. He's number 3 of 4, so feel have a mix of individual subjects, family subjects, being combined with just 4th grade brother, and being combined with just preK brother.

Reading/Literature: no idea yet. I may just let him have a year of reading lots for fun and leave it at that. He'll give since spontaneous narrations when he's supposed to be going to bed, I'm sure.

Math: Beast Academy 2, likely some 2

Grammar: FLL combined with little brother

Spelling: All About Spelling, likely 3 and 4 (this will be a lot of his writing, really)

History: SotW Ancients with family

Handwriting: may start on cursive, probably do some Draw Write Now to practice drawing and handwriting.

Science: Mystery Science with little brother

Probably some geography with big brother

I should probably run him and big brother though some planned-out home ec

Extracurricular: cub scouts, church choir, ?

I have changed up 2nd as well. I'm trying to keep everyone in similar curriculum to help everything go smoothly with a baby.

I'm scrapping the Cottage Press Primers. He has spelling, nature study, and copywork elsewhere and just needs narration practice... I'll pick a book with short chapters and do it a few times a week...

We're also trying WriteShop B. He likes creative writing so we'll see.

Math is back to RightStart...I really like it better and I think he can handle it now. It will be B or C or a combination of both.

Science is Let's Talk Science 2 physical science. It's light and fun. His sister did it for 2nd and has fond memories of it. He saw it and wanted to try it.

The rest is the same.
