mommyoffive
Hoping after the storms yesterday and high winds today everyone is ok? I hope everyone has power and is doing ok.
JFSinIL
Fine nw of Chicago. Was surprised on walkies with Lab this morning that there werent even any branches down, just a few tipped over trashcans. We lucked out.
kirstenhill
We were out of power at our house in SE Minnesota for about 8 hours, but my MIL in IA had multiple downed trees, including two that fell on her roof. 😞 1
Selkie
The winds only reached 70mph here instead of the predicted 90 mph, so that was a relief - and no tornadoes. We had a few branches down but no other damage, and we did not lose power. My horses made it through just fine, which is always my biggest worry when we have scary weather! Lots of downed power lines and fallen trees and roof damage in our county, though.
scholastica
A tree in my neighborhood was uprooted but thankfully fell into common ground and not on any houses.
mommyoffive
No power outages or tornadoes for us. We were at tech night and had to drive home 1 hour in the wind, which was scary. But they were thinking tornadoes would happen so it was a relief that they didn't. No damage at home except the roof of the chicken coop. However we did run over a huge fallen tree on the way home. It was on a country road and we didn't see it until it was too late. It was all the way across the road so there wasn't anything we could really do. At least the truck in front of us hit it first and made a decent pathway. No damage to the car we can see.
catz
We're in Minnesota and this has been a crazy run of weather! 20 inches of snow to 55 degrees and puddles to wind advisories to blizzardy conditions this morning. No major damage seen near us though and we have power so no complaints! Stay safe everyone! 1
TarynB
Foothills of Colorado, official wind speed clocked at up to 68 mph in my area. Up on the high peaks it was over 100 mph! We lost power, due to trees falling on the lines, then landline and cell service out also, for about 13 hours, but feel lucky that it's all back on now. Still a lot of homes in our valley without power for going on 30 hours now. Everyone up here is on private wells, so no power means no water too. Fortunately we had some warning so were able to run buckets of water to save for flushing toilets, etc. Edited December 16, 2021 by TarynB
