CamperMom
I inherited a diamond ring which belonged to a great-great aunt. I never met her and don't have any attachment to the ring. Is there a marketplace for selling old jewelry? Can you offer some ideas for me? We have a pawn shop in town, but I don't think it would be the right place for this antique ring. All ideas are welcome! Thank you for your help.
scholastica
Possibly look for an “estate jeweler”. They will buy pieces but pay better than a pawn shop. You might also be able to consign at some of these stores.
Beth S
I have no idea what your family situation is, but my mother-in-law set aside her diamond ring for the oldest son to use as an engagement ring. Our son ended up putting it into a new setting. It's possible that you could sell the diamond to a friend who is about to propose!
hamajik
The thread is old, but I just wanted to say that if I were you, I would not sell the ring.
