Julie in CA
In the scheme of 15 minutes of cleaning done every hour or two throughout the day, I realized that a lot of things I put off can be done in only 15 minutes. Here's a few ideas of things I put off doing. Each could be done in 15 minutes: Dust the piano & entry hall wipe the frame part of all my barstools change the a/c filters clean under the couches So what jobs do you not do very often that could really be done in 15 minutes if you were motivated to do so? ETA: have you ever heard the phrase "15 minutes" so often?! I'm very focused on the concept, I guess!
hornblower
15 mins is too long for me! Most of my tasks are 10 mins & many are 5 mins. I'm not sure what it is but I swear I'm getting ADHD as I age. I'm wondering if it's a function of having little kids for long & being a multi tasker for many years, that now that they're older & I could do something for a longer time & I don't need to multi-task, I could just focus on something for an hour - I CAN'T. I get distracted & I wander away. Here are a couple that I really need to do & they're "little tasks" -grab the duster on a stick thing & whoosh the cobwebs off the track lighting -sweep the front steps -windex the bathroom mirrors
Michelle T
use disinfectant wipes on doorknobs, dust a shelf of knickknacks, wipe down the kitchen counter, wipe the toilet bowl, dust off wood furniture, wipe off the outside of the cat box, search for lost cat toys under furniture, straighten a bookshelf, put dishes in dishwasher, unload dishwasher, pick up big dustballs off floors, make the beds, Lots of others, but those give a start! Janet in Toronto
Clean a shelf of the fridge. That is, remove everything and toss old stuff. Remove shelf and wash with warm soapy water. Dry and replace shelf. Replace stuff on shelf. I can probably do 2 shelves in 15 minutes.
Rhonda in TX
Not things like cleaning out your closet, but I know I can mop my kitchen floor in less than 15 minutes. And I hate that job. Other seldom done jobs: wipe off light switches dust lamp shades clean out one drawer of clothes
Amie
~Removing the drawer under the oven and cleaning the floor underneath. (May actually take less than 15 min.) ~Dusting off the bathroom light fixtures over the sink. We have 9 ft. ceilings and the fixtures are kind of high. (That's my excuse anyway.;))
Sharon H in IL
Take down the summer screens from the windows of one room and brush them off on the back deck, set them by the stairs to take to storage.
