Non-FB option

Hi,

I am thinking of suggesting that our provincial HS page consider using some other platform.  

I'm wondering what my options are - what have people tried, what are the pros and cons of each?

The way the group is used is mostly people post notifications of activities they are organising. Also sometimes materials or information they are looking for or articles.  People will use the calendar for regular events especially, it's useful for planning times for other events.

Google classroom has worked well for my drama group.

One group uses Google and it works well. Another group we are part of uses What’s App and it works great.

Ds's Scout CS pack uses the app "Band". Mostly to post photos, make announcements, update the calendar etc.

^ This. Our 4h group uses it and there are so many options,  you can control who posts, cpmments, everything. And super private and easy to use.

Thanks for the ideas guys, I'll look into these and see what might work.

I'm not necessarily concerned by who owns them.  Or rather, I think most of these companies aren't organisations I'm crazy about.  It's the FB platform I'd love to be able to get away from.
