Depends on the booklet. If you want to knock a bunch out in a couple of intensive days, that's possible for some of them. Or you can stretch it way out. I'd say 4-5 per year would be plenty for science.

The biggest detractor with TOPS is that there's zero text. Alas. But you can pair it with whatever living science books you like.

 Generally about 2 - 4  weeks for each book, doing it a few times a week. We've done 2 a year, along with other stuff.  Sometimes a textbook, sometimes biographies, sometimes lots of NOVA.  I cast my net wide in K-8 science.
