Help me to decide about Amazon return

Dd broke the glass carafe of my French press.  I accidentally ordered the wrong size from Amazon for $12.  I have to pay $6 shipping to return it.  I do have that size, but so far, that carafe is not broken.

So, do I hang onto it until I need it, or return it for half price?

I can storage it in the storage room. I figure if I keep it, I won’t need it, but if I return it, I will!

an addendum to Mrs. Murphy's law.  if anything can go wrong, it will.  when he's out of town.

Not in this case because I just left it on the Amazon box, so all I have to do is print the label and drop off to UPS which is right beside Walmart, which I end up at a couple of times a week.

I’d remember!  Plus, I just have a bookshelf in our storage room for kitchen stuff, so if it wasn’t there, that means someone else moved it.
