MasaMama
Hello, DS enjoys listening to SOTW. So, we listnend to a sample of A History of US audio, but he says he doesn't like it. He prefers male voice. Does anybody know if there is another version of A History of US, narrated by a male? EKS
Um...he probably doesn't like it because it isn't familiar. If you were to start listening to it regularly, after the first few times, I'm guessing that it wouldn't be a problem.
Jackie
I searched high and low just to find audio of History of US at all. There's just the one. It's well done and I encourage you to stick with it a while if you can.

MistyMountain
It is free on One Click Audio. Check your library's ecollection. Our library has hoopla and overdrive and it is not on either. It takes a little bit longer to get on ILL but at least it is free here. There was one they did not find but I tried again and they got it.
RootAnn
Not exactly what you are looking for, but the Great Courses US History course (Audible) is all male and not too high level for a middle schooler, I'd say. (I can't remember any content that would be 'adult', but it is possible I missed some. You'd want to listen together or preview.) There's a deal on audible credits (3 months @ 1.95/month) - can't remember where it is right now, but if you are interested, I can search & post a link.
CamilleBethany
Maybe not what you're looking for but Adventures in Odyssey has a special US history audio collection through HSLDA. It's a male voice, but with kids and voice actors through out, and it's done really well. I use it for my 4 kids ages 5-11. https://store.hslda.org/adventures-in-american-history-p321.aspx

(I apologize for the late response...). We just listened to the sample and DS likes it! Fortunately, our library has the CDs so we will give it a try.
