5knights3maidens
We think she did it because the clip looks like a plug. It blew out the living room and all upstairs. I'm so thankful that nothing happened to her. There was smoke and sparks etc.! Also, it is burnt, including the outlet.
Jennifer in MI
oh my!!! I'm glad she's fine too! I still remember when I was about three sticking a penny into an open socket. Yikes!!! I'll never do that again!!! LOL
Hen
wow, I am so glad she is okay!! That has always been one of my big fears, the kids sticking something into an outlet.

*********
When I was little, I stuck my pair of left-handed safety scissors into the outlet. I still had them years later, since left-handed scissors were so hard to find. The very ends were twisted a bit. Luckily, they also had plastic coated handles, so I was ok. That gives a new meaning to 'safety scissors', now doesn't it. :glare: My parents were soooooo mad. Apparently, as I was told at the time, as well as for years afterward, I was 'old enough to know better'. I always thought 'well, obviously that's not true...' Reesegirl
My oldest daughter did the same thing when she was 2! It knocked out all the living room and bedroom lights. We were in an old home with ancient wiring. I always thought that an angel protected her...and it sounds like one protected your daughter too! Maybe there is a specific angel assigned to children like ours!
melissel
Oh my gosh! Thank goodness she's OK! Neither of my girls have ever shown any interest in the outlets, so I've gotten lazy about replacing the covers. Just the other day, though, I caught DD3 sitting very close to an open dining room outlet, contemplating it very carefully. I REALLY need to get those covers back on!! Thanks for the reminder, and I'm so glad your power was the only thing that got knocked out :grouphug:
