rainbowmama
Help me pick a maternity coat. I'm normally around a size 14. I need something that I can comfortably wear with temperatures in the teens or lower, as we hike outside a lot. A lot of maternity coats seem more like fall jackets. Any suggestions? I do want a maternity coat, as I've found going up a size or two without shaping let's the cold into the coat. Hwin
Old Navy has some great deals and I've had two of their maternity coats.
Moonhawk
I liked the Old Navy coats more than the Motherhood store ones. Seemed warmer and to fit better. Same with the sweaters, Old Navy's seemed thicker.
prairiewindmomma
My Old Navy maternity peacoat was comfortable to the low 20s but not below.
Guest
Most of them suck, truth be told. I usually just wear a long cabled sweater and later with sweatshirts if I need more coverage. Alternatively something like the Kinder Coat is your next set bet for warmth, but they're pricy. My house ate mine and I've been searching for it! Beth S
Another suggestion. One of my non-maternity coats is double-breasted (overlapping in the front). I just moved the buttons over to the edge & (basically) make it into a single-breasted coat. It's nice because you don't really need a maternity coat for more than a few months. Best wishes! Suzanne in ABQ
I just used a down parka, and wore a long, wide, thick scarf doubled down the front.
