Beaniemom Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 DH smoked a lovely brisket Sunday but now I'm not sure what to do with all of it. We are a family of 5 but the children are not big meat eaters. DH is eating a very low carb/sugar diet too. Any ideas would be welcome. Quote
ktgrok Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 eat it? maybe make a low carb barbecue sauce? Top with hot sauce? put on a salad? Wrap in a low carb wrap? Eat it with your fingers over the sink, just shoveling it in your mouth? Ohterwise, maybe a chimichurri sauce, I think those are lower sugar. 6 Quote
KatieJ Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I would freeze it in portions we could eat in a meal or two at most. Enjoy it, sounds fabulous! 4 Quote
marbel Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I would freeze it in portions we could eat in a meal or two at most. Enjoy it, sounds fabulous! This is what I would do. My husband used to smoke pork shoulder, and after the first dinner of it I'd just freeze it in meal-sized portions. Having cooked meat like that in the freezer is so helpful. I'd just reheat and serve on sandwich buns, with or without bbq sauce according to taste. Great for nights when I had no clue what to cook. Quote
