Clearing up "bacne?"

One week til prom. Strapless (but tasteful) dress, and we notice some blocked pores causing a bit of a rough appearance. She has typical OTC stuff. Should she exfoliate more intensely at the beginning of the week and hope for more clear skin by Saturday? Or leave it alone, or something else? Not really blackheads, and not a lot of red bumps, and no cystic acne. She just wants to look her best. Her hair will be down, but dancing will probably involve some touching! (Not much of that either. 😉)

Gently exfoliate daily, wash with an acne wash with light benzoyl peroxide (2.5% not 10%), and gently moisturize.

 

Gentle in all things so it doesn't get irritated :)

Did she switch shampoos or conditioners? I get that with Pantene. It clears up quickly when I switch away from it.

 

There's a Neutrogena body wash for acne, but regular face stuff will work too.

I don't know if this will work in a week, but my dd uses this for eczema and the reviews say it works well for acne.

She'll probably be the only one who knows they're there. I wouldn't stress her about it at all. If the washing helps in one week, great. Otherwise just go and enjoy the celebration.
