Jennifer132
We are moving to a property that has a 1/4 mile gravel driveway, and I am interested in a bigger mailbox that can hold some packages and possibly is locking, since the house is so far from the road. Does anyone have a mailbox they can recommend?
Anne in CA
I am curious about this too.
Callie
I also have 1/4 mile drive and have the mailbox you describe. It came from Lowes approx 10 years ago. Sorry I have no other info just wanted to let you know that they do exist & where I purchased it. It unlocks from both the front & back. The back has full access to the box & the front has a door 1/2 the size of the box and an opening. I
Amy in NH
I also have a long gravel driveway in a rural area, actually on a main highway though, with people stopping directly across the road to fill up jugs at our spring. When we first moved here I put in a large mailbox without a lock, and we haven't had any trouble with mail disappearing. We regularly have packages delivered to the mailbox. To make it last longer I painted it a bright color with rustoleum before I installed it, and I've found that also helps as a landmark when I'm giving directions to visitors.
