Jerico
Not sure if my title makes sense but I have a really old computer and no money for a replacement. It works okay if we use a CD or DVD-rom, but not so much for downloads. Any ideas? Eta: need something off-line!
Love_to_Read
Typing Instructor for Kids comes on CD-Rom. Dance Mat Typing is available online...no download, but lesson by lesson if your internet connection is okay.
Jerico
Thank you. I should have added, i need something that we can use without the internet. I will edit my original post.
TarynB
You can buy Type to Learn as a set of CD-ROMs to load onto a single computer (no multi-user license). Here's a link to it on Amazon: http://smile.amazon.com/Type-Learn-Agents-Information-Version/dp/B004LC3VCW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1440973763&sr=8-2&keywords=type+to+learn+cd+rom If that one doesn't appeal, try just searching something like "typing CD-Rom" and look for ones with good reviews. ETA - since your computer is older, you might try looking for the older versions listed, not the latest editions, i.e., Type to Learn edition 3, instead of the latest edition 4. Perhaps more likely to be compatible with your computer's older operating system.
kiwik
I got a second hand copy of Mavis Beatson teaches typing. Straighforward without distracting graphics.
Pen
Our Typing Instructor for Kids was on a disc... in process of upgrading computer situation it looks like I'll have to get a newer one by download. I believe that Rainbow Resource is still selling the older disc versions. We also had an old, totally unused disc version of Read Write Type (www.talkingfingers.com) which was compatible with an even older computer than ours is, if I can find it, and it were compatible with your older machine, and you'd want to buy it, I'd be willing to sell. kbutton
I would look for a secondhand copy locally of older software that works with your computer. Lots of people are eager to get rid of their old stuff. You might find something at a thrift store.
