TheApprentice
Once my son starts the application process on the common app, or any other (that don't participate in the common app), can he save and return or does he need to finish once he loads up? Hoggirl
Can save and return, BUT the new app doesn't open until August 1st. I wouldn't start until then.

Sebastian (a lady)
The essay topics are already available, if you want to have him start working on something. http://blog.commonapp.org/2015/03/31/2015-2016-essay-prompts/ Home » Admissions and Access » 2015-2016 Essay Prompts 2015-2016 Essay Prompts Posted on 03.31.2015 in Admissions and Access, Essay Prompts We are pleased to share the 2015-2016 Essay Prompts with you. New language appears in italics: Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story. The lessons we take from failure can be fundamental to later success. Recount an incident or time when you experienced failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience? Reflect on a time when you challenged a belief or idea. What prompted you to act? Would you make the same decision again? Describe a problem you’ve solved or a problem you’d like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma-anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution. Discuss an accomplishment or event, formal or informal, that marked your transition from childhood to adulthood within your culture, community, or family.
teachermom2834
Can my ds write different essays for different schools? I can see him tweaking depending on the school. But, can you change the essay between applications? The "common" part of this is confusing to me.
JanetC
Can my ds write different essays for different schools? I can see him tweaking depending on the school. But, can you change the essay between applications? The "common" part of this is confusing to me. Yes, you can change it if you want to. However, most advisors say to just write one main essay in most cases.
