MomOfABunch
I'm shopping on Amazon and I'm not sure which books I need to get for Henle Latin First year. Which of the accompanying books are needed? Thanks!
G5052
You need the blue Latin Grammar book, the purple Latin: First Year, and the white Henle First Year Latin Answer Key. Latin Grammar is the grammar reference used with each level.
shanezomom
If you would like answers to all the of Henle First Year exercises, check out this answer key which we found helpful. The white answer key supplied by the Henle publisher does not provide answers for all exercises. http://www.olvs.org/ShopCart/InvDtl.aspx?InvId=10177&GrdId=&InvCatId= I wish I knew how to link sites better..... If that didn't work, try Our Lady of Victory web page for the answer key.
mumto2
Fwiw....Our favourite supplement for Henle are Mother of Devine Grace study guides. Memoria Press only covers half the year (I think, definitely not the full year). Can but MoDGin one book for one year or divided in order to cover over two years.
MomOfABunch
Do I need the quizzes and final exam?
Kathy in Richmond
We used the quizzes & exams in the MoDG syllabus mentioned above.

crazyforlatin
http://www.setonbooks.com/viewone.php?ToView=S-L1HS-12 Henle's answer key does not contain all the answers, but the answer key from Seton does. And really not that bad for $5.
JadeOrchidSong
Do you use two separate (1A and 1B) MODG guides or just the one year combined guide?
Kathy in Richmond
MODG has renamed their guides since we used them. My daughter used their old "Latin 1" and "Latin 2" study guides, which covered all of Henle Books 1 and 2. These guides have now been replaced by 3 separate books renamed Latin 1 (or 1A), Latin 2 (or 1B), and Latin 3.

Was it a good pace or very fast? I am leaning towards having the two guides to cover the first book.
Kathy in Richmond
The pace was just right for us. Dd used them from the middle of grade 6 to the middle of grade 9. I liked how they incorporated regular grammar & vocabulary review in addition to textbook exercises and regular quizzes & tests.
