macmacmoo
Disney world experts I have no idea where to start in planning. We normally do Disneyland for one day and stay with relatives. Disney world has so many things to consider. What would you recommend? First weekend in October. Me, hubby, our three boys who will be 7, 4, and 1, and my mom and step dad. Hubby is active duty. We'd be driving.
itsheresomewhere
For the size of your party consider renting a villa through DVC. October is nice and the food and wine festival is going on. If you can- do Mickey's not so scary hallowee party.
Tammi K
Shades of Green is quite nice and price is based on rank. Access to Disney transportation and early park days are also nice perks.
Luckymama
Start here http://www.easywdw.comwith the October crowd calendar and the Cheat Sheets for each park (right column). Stay for the pictures and the snark ;) It's totally free and very accurate. We've been following his recommendations since the website launched.
FriedClams
We've used the Armed Forces Vacation Club condos (you can Google them) on numerous trips and we've never been disappointed. We used them for a couple of Disney World trips and it was great. When you combine them with the tickets you pre-order on base, it can be a very reasonable trip. We ate breakfast at the condo, packed snacks, drank water, had one park meal a day, ate off park during rest breaks, etc. HTH. Feel free to pm if you have questions. ETA- AFVC is doing a bogo...awesome deal!!!
