LifeLovePassion
DD thought chemistry would be something she would like to study. What can you recommend? Iam looking for curriculum, reference or living books she can read herself, and fun materials or experiment kits.
lanabug
I'm looking at NOEO Chemistry Level 2 for my rising 4th grader. It is a mix between classical method and Charlotte Mason. It uses a reference book for the spine but has several living books to read along with it. It uses several of the Young Scientist kits for experiments. It is written from a Christian perspective, so if you want more secular, you might look at Elemental Science. We are using the Earth Science/Astronomy level this year and I have been pretty pleased with it. Lana
Bocky
We had fun with Real Science Odyssey Chemistry when my two dds were 2nd and 4th grades. It has simple experiments and demonstrations (like making atoms out of three colors of marshmallows) and easy worksheets.
displace
For living history perhaps biographies of famous scientists. I've heard great things about the "who was..." Series. There is a who was Albert Einstein (he proved the existence of atoms so therefore it's related to chemistry 😄).

Spryte
We loved RSO Chem, too.
Farrar
Inquiry in Action isn't enough for a full year, but it's good and hands on and free.
