Pronghorn
How do these two programs differ and/or fit together? Which would you do first? Or would you select one and not do the other due to overlap in what they cover? And if you used Windows to the World, did you use the teacher's guide? Is it necessary? Erica in OR
I can only speak to Windows to the World. We're using it this year, and IMO the teacher's guide is an absolute necessity. Erica in OR
texasmama
I found this, which may be helpful: http://iew.com/sites/default/files/paperbasedcourse/fileattachment/Lit_Analysis_Resource_Comparison.pdf It is a PDF comparing the two programs side by side. You may have seen it, but I wanted to post it for others.
Julie of KY
They are very different products. I would describe Teaching the Classics as directed at the parent and giving you the tools to carry on literature discussions with your child. Windows to the World is step by step lessons for literary analysis.
jec3113
It is my understanding that the two should be used together.
klmama
Loved Windows to the World, minus a couple of small points. Older kids loved it. Plan to use it again with the next one. Teacher's guide is helpful and, for some things, essential. Hated Teaching the Classics. Didn't look at it soon enough to return, and ended up selling it at a huge loss. Lady who bought it loved it. Different strokes....
Free Indeed
I am using the syllabus that incorporates both from IEW. It's been a good class. I highly recommend it.
